I have been meaning to touch base with you. First and foremost – THANK YOU! We had such an amazing trip. It exceeded our expectations.
The tour was great. We traveled with a great, fun bunch of people (mostly Canada’s who were so worried for us because of the hurricane). The tour guide was awesome. He was knowledgeable, fun, funny, offered great suggestions and really made the tour memorable. The hotels were wonderful. And thank you for the upgrades. We had to stop talking about our awesome rooms because the other travelers looked at us funny when we talked about our amazing rooms and bathtubs :P.
There was only one hiccup when we first arrived in Ireland. The private transfer never showed up to take us to the first hotel. We waited an hour before just taking a taxi to Celbridge Manor (as you may remember this was a change to the original itinerary – gorgeous hotel, I attached a photo of it). And we missed the Irish music night on 9/11/17 because we had to make new travel arrangements due to the cancelled flight.
Killarney was my favorite stop. We were there two nights so it was great (photo attached). The Cliffs of Moher were breath taking (photos). Of course Blarney Castle was amazing too. Joe and I took over 700 photos between the two of us.
During the storm, I was able to communicate from the hotels with the kids. Never once did it cross our minds to go home earlier for the storm. Ireland was too beautiful to leave and we waited so long to go. Our bonus days were just as amazing as the tour. Our future daughter in law got us a room at the Powerscott Hotel (5 star) for an amazing employee discount. I submitted our claim to Allianz and have already been reimbursed the full requested amount. No hassles at all. Soooo glad we had it. It alleviated the stress of the extended stay. There was no stress, not one moment.
I am excited for Tara and Courtney trip to Italy. If it is half as good as ours, they are in for an amazing trip.
