Ashe called us in Sydney Australia to inform us that the Brillance was broken and we needed to book our room in the hotel for 3 more days. Tile on our first Royal Caribbean cruise. Holly was wonderful. We really didn’t have to stress about anything . She kept us informed of everything we needed prior to the cruise . We even had to deal with the recent hurricane which caused us to have a delay by one day. She was street at letting us know what was happening. Holly Nyer was meticulous in every step of the "before", "during" and "after" stages of planning our family cruise on the Mariner of the Seas. This was an extra special occasion as 50 members of my family were on board celebrating my "mom-in-law's" 90th birthday. Holly's intentional planning provided us with rooms in close proximity, dining arrangements and an event room to have a special birthday party. Gate 1 Travel went up a couple of notches on our scale of tour companies. Because this was the last tour of the season there were only 12 of us travelers (usually 28.) It was like going on their Small Discovery Groups tour sans the extra cost. Noe (no way) our tour manager (16 years in the biz, she'll be 37 this year) was excellent. Local guides also excellent (Eduardo in Santiago and Qui Que (key kay) in Puntas Arenas to El Calafate Noe lives in Buenos Aires.
Patagonia is not for the weak of heart or body. There were 2 nasty days with driving rain and Category 1 hurricane winds but the rest of the time was sunny and even "warm." There were 2 moderate hikes into glaciers that I did not do because of the weather and the terrain and my ability to walk after having been so sick in early 2017. Catamaran (double hulled tour boats) trips into the glaciers and iceberg fields were excellent. Wore lots and lots of Chico's Travellers layers to keep warm plus my baby alpaca sweater coat that I bought in Peru 26 years ago plus a rain jacket (for a couple of days.)
Hotels in Santiago and Buenos Aires were centrally located and right off the main squares. Both were almost 5 star. Patagonian hotels were also almost the best that the towns had to offer. No complaints.
Gate 1 does not own its busses. The ones we had were just fine. Just not the new Mercedes like Globus has with the steps that pneumatically lower when the bus stops.
Return flights were long. Because this was "the Miami special" LATAM went from Buenos Aires to Lima, change planes and then fly to Miami all nighttime flights.
Landed in Miami 8 am and then the 4 1/2 drive back to East Lake. Got home about 2:30 on Tuesday the 23rd. Colleen Davis was here taking care of Oscar as she only worked a half days on Monday and Tuesday. Paid to park at Embassy Suites which was less than Park n Fly. Because I thought we were not arriving back until the 24th as the itineraries showed we had breakfast at Embassy Suites. Very personalized service at Embassy Suites for parking. Highly recommend that option.
Enjoyed our times in the big cities and learning about the culture of Chile and Argentina. Frankly, I did not have any expectations for this trip so it was way beyond our imaginations. Highly recommend for peeps on their 12th level of travel adventures.
The group was cohesive and everyone was always on time. Jon (turned 29 on the trip) and Genie (atty) got engaged on the trip. Two ladies were originally from Thailand; they met freshman year in NZ and both were about 65. Another couple were Korean Americans; they lived in Ft. Lauderdale; he is a retired physicist. Hector and Nora were originally from Ecuador and both retired from US government jobs and lived in VA Frank and Anne met at Georgetown; she was from Grand Rapids, MN and he from upstate NY. They were quite elusive and mysterious. They are staying in Zepherhills, Jackson Hole for the summer and back to MN for the fall. They are married 49 years on May 29th and we celebrate the same on June 19th. They have done about 20 Gate 1's and most recently did Sri Lanka (before the Easter bombings.)

This cruise included two ports, good entertainment and excellent food choices. Windjammer Buffet was great and an enormous variety. We also tried Johnny Rockets - that was fun and upbeat with fabulous, a fabulous atmosphere and great food. Our Main Dining Room, Starlight was exceptional! Hi Miki, we loved our Avalon cruise. The food was great, the cities were interesting and the scenery along all of the rivers was beautiful and so relaxing. We especially appreciated our cruise director, Bert. He was very informed and entertaining. Plus, they always offered a guided tour for "gentle walkers" which was good for us as Leonard does not walk fast. I would have loved to have used the bikes on board but had no one to bike with.
Really the only complaints we have were our seats on the airplane were not very good and when they took us to the Budapest airport we arrived 3 hours early only to stand in line at the check-in counter for 2 hours! That was really hard for both of us to do and left a bad taste in our mouth after having a wonderful trip.

I’ve been meaning to email you but you know how hectic things get. I just wanted to thank you for our wonderful cruise. We all enjoyed every minute of it. Everything on the ship was great and the ports were good also. Loved Labadee! That was the port I was least excited about and the one I loved the most. Also, FYI, in St. Maarten I did the America’s cup yacht race and it was awesome. I would highly recommend that to anyone that has even the slightest interest in sailing. Fun.
Next up…I’d love to do a Viking riverboat cruise, just need to find someone who would be willing to commit to going with me. I’ll keep you posted on that one!

Indeed the operative word for this trip to Ireland was "SCENIC". Great mixture of views, experiences and a variety of hotel accommodations and surprisingly exceptional cuisine. Nice cohesive group of 44 ranging from Kiwis, Aussies, Maple Leafs and Americans.

Our MN friends selected this trip and my sister joined us. Paul our guide was also exceptional!! Richard too, however, some days into the trip by labor standards he had to take 2 1/2 days off required time.....this played into my driver tip recommendation.
Delta flights in and out of JFK are a nightmare. Changing from Terminal 2/4 or vice versa is awful and missing the outbound flight due to Hermine (1/2 hour late) and worse than that traffic in the air/tarmac (1 hour delay)that night at JFK. Not a travel agent's fault by any means!! Will submit receipt for travel trip interruption insurance this week.

We are home from our fabulous vacation!!!
We had an amazing time along with amazing weather!!! We had very little and I mean very little rain! The cruise was great – very nice ship! We did an excursion at every port – kayaking in Ketchikan was our favorite. Saw seals, lots of eagles, and even whales!!! Everything went very smoothly … only snag we had was the 3 hour visit at US customs yiyiyi that was fun, not! We had a fantastic day in Vancouver (rented bikes and rode around Stanley Park) and 2 very activity filled days in Seattle!!!
Coming back to this heat, very tough! Will be posting pics!

Just wanted to "thank you" for all your hard work in making this trip so special for us!!! You do a great job!!! I do appreciate everything. The Marian Shrines of Europe, was a fantastic tour!!! I enjoyed the knowledge of the the tour director Fernanda, she was always very aware of some tourists inability to "keep up". Our entire group was faith based, the majority are Filipino very faith loving, very kind and concerned. I would recommend this tour to anyone. The bus driver Paulo was fantastic helping everyone off the bus, knowledge and skill handling the bus in the mountains, narrow streets, parking etc. The comfort was outstanding!!! I enjoyed all the hotels european style, comfort and location. Made it very easy for walking. I also enjoyed the breakfasts, and the dinners at the hotels. We had the best time ever! The hotel was really nice and the weather was perfect. We had a few issues with our door not locking when we first got there. They did fix it eventually and offered to move us to another room, same type of room, but another floor. The staff was very nice and remembered us. We didn’t make it to any of the shows because we were either too tired to stay awake or ended up staying upstairs to watch tv or listen to the piano that played each night.
Other than that the food was great, I would advise not to drink the water, even if they say it’s filtered. I should know better, I know. We had one day that it rained since there was storm off the coast, but it rained and cleared out within an hour or so.
We did go into town one day with a few other couples we met and were able to get some goodies to bring home. We also had lunch while there. El Squid Roe was the restaurant. The food was wonderful and drinks were perfect.
United went really well and I have to say that immigration and custom’s in both Houston and Cabo were the quickest we’ve experienced. They seemed to be way more organized than any other airport we’ve gone through recently.
Thank you again so much for booking yet another wonderful trip for us. We did tell all of our new friends about you and how easy it is to work with you. So hopefully we can find you some more business.

Just wanted to let you know how our cruise went. It was amazing. Our hotel was perfect in location and for all services with a wonderful breakfast each day. Our transportation were on time for all transports and people were very informative and pleasant. The ship was magnificent as usual, kids had a ball and so did all the adults. Just wanted to drop you a line and tell you what a great time we had on the Oasis, as you can see from Karen's pictures. The ship was beautiful. One thing we were not happy with the location of our room, which I think was a upgrade. We were on the front of the ship and our ocean view was of the helicopter pad, also at this location the movement of the ship was more evident and in docking you could hear more of the noise. Other than that entertainment, food and people were outstanding. Now looking forward to our next one on the Allure. We need to complete those plans, give me a few days to catch my breath and we can finalize those.

Just wanted to touch base with you on our cruise. It was a great time had by all, especially the kids who for them was a first time! Unfortunately the weather did not co-operate with us....weather was so bad that we could not stop at Grand Caymen....that was a bummer but we got through it....loved the food and entertainment...it was a great time other than the weather which no one has control of. We had a great time aboard the Emerald. We had cruised the Diamond before, so it was the same great layout. The Emerald had the international Cafe which became our food destination of choice. Wonderful desserts and great salads, quiches and sandwiches!!!! Our kind of food :)
We also LOVED the Cosol tour suggestion in St. Lucia. They were great and showed us a fun day with a variety of activities. Good value after all was said and done!!!
Another good suggestion was the Park n Go at the port. Valet parking and upon return, the car is pulled out, they gave us bottles of water and we were on our way!!!! So easy!!
Our favorite island is St Lucia. Could go back there for a relaxing week. We DID get over to St. John. Princess did open up another group and it was well done, albeit $$$ for what we got.
Also did like your suggestion of the aqua chairs on princess cay. Cool.
We had great weather in the Caribbean, and now are in Daytona Beach where we have not seen the sun for 4 days!!

The cruise went very well. It was a good break for us and sooo nice we did not have to be contacted for any emergency.
The Brilliance is a beautiful ship (we love the Radiance class design), staff very helpful, friendly and the Capt very personable. It was our third time with "Clo" the Cruise director, a very "dynamic" gal !
Food of course was ample and good. We had a table for two and kept the 8:30 seating. Our waiter was good, but his Assistant rough around the edges. Our stateroom attendant was super and so he was given a "WOW' card from us, etc.
Most obvious to us though are RC's cutbacks/changes.
We will do the online survey, making appropriate remarks.
We did have a bit of rain in Grand Cayman that shorten a beach trip, but overall the seas were very calm and weather good for January.
A highlight for Martin was the Cozumel excursion "Sail the 12 Meter America's Cup Challenge". It was a quite a thrill ( strenuous too as he was a grinder) and he was glad to be sailing once again. I was able to get great pix and video of that from our balcony. Super memories...

The cruise was fantastic! Disney does a great job keeping both the parents and kids happy. We didn't have any problems. Everything went smoothly. The ship was beautiful, food tasty and we loved our dolphin excursion in Nassau and Castaway Key was very enjoyable too. We did not book another cruise. We'd like to explore other cruise lines in the future, for just the two of us as well as for the whole family.

No problems booking Murano. They did the credit a couple of days later. We were exhausted by the time we got to dinner, but it was great. The ship was fantastic. I was impressed by the central elevator system, 3 on each side. Very little waiting. Our room was in a perfect location--thanks. Unbelievably clean. Very quick response time on needs. Needed an extension cord for the CPAP machine--5 minutes at most. TV went dark because of a loose wire in back which happens when they go to clean. Fixed when we came back from breakfast. I was also amazed at some of the entertainment. Exceeded expectations. Nice blend of demographics on the ship.- Roger M.
