Cruise and Land combo to Israel and Greece
This incredible opportunity to is the Holy Land and the ancient temples built to Greek Gods was breathtaking. We spent 3 days in Jerusalem and Bethlehem visiting all the spiritually uplifting sites before boarding a 7-night cruise. We boarded the luxurious Seabourn Encore in Haifa and journeyed through Turkey and Greece before disembarking in Athens. I had no idea that Turkey was so breathtakingly beautiful, This trip was AMAZING!
Switzerland!!!!
To celebrate our 35th anniversary (one year late due to Covid), we spent 13 glorious days touring Switzerland, Austria, Germany and even a small portion of Italy. The trip was booked with Trafalgar, one of my favorite companies for guided tours. The landscape and beauty of the Swiss Alps is unbelievable! I want to move there!!! From Zurich to Lucerne to Salzburg to Vienna to Zermatt and more, this trip was spectacular! I'm not sure there was a highlight but I fell in love with the people and the culture, so much so that I wouldn't mind living there.
Cabo
Time for a quick trip to Cabo in October. This trip was more for business than pleasure and I spent most of my time visiting all-inclusive resorts and learning more about Cabo.
Celebrity Ascent
Our annual convention was held in Ft Lauderdale. After the convention, I was privileged enough to be invited on the inaugural sailing of the Celebrity Ascent. This stunning ship is a must do for those with a little more discerning taste.

Icon of the Seas
Yes, the most anticipated ship on the water and I was only one of 10 travel advisors in the Western region to receive a special invite to sail on the inaugural cruise with Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas. This ship is mind-blowing! She is definitely built for the family who wants to be active and entertained because there is so much to do! Plan on wearing a good pair of shoes and running until you drop (if you want to go 24 hours a day). FYI, the Wizard of Oz is the theatrical event in the main theatre and is the best show I have ever seen on a cruise ship!
Arctic Circle Cruise followed by an 11-night river cruise
Departing June 25th, we will be gone for almost 3 weeks. We will sail with Ponant (Le Lyrial) and visit the Norwegian Fjords/Glaciers before working our way to the Arctic Circle. Hopefully we will see the elusive Polar Bear and other wildlife. After disembarking, we will take a short flight to Amsterdam to sail with AmaWaterways on the AmaCerto. This amazing 11-night cruise will feature the Rhine and Moselle rivers from Amsterdam to Basel, Switzerland.
Disney Cruise with family
In October, Diane and I will be taking our 6 children, spouses, and 4 grandchildren on the Disney Magic for a 5-night cruise. For about 1/2 of our family, this will be their first cruise! The grandkids grow more excited as each day draws us closer to departure. With visits to Castaway Cay and Cozumel, the warm water, sandy beaches, and fun await! We are so excited to share this fun adventure with all of our family!

The cruise itself was really nice. The state room on the ship was excellent; as was the food and service. We really liked Budapest, Bratislava, Passau and Vienna. At best, Prague and Vilshofen only seemed to tolerate tourists. I think we booked too many tours. I skipped one just so I could watch the villages going by as we floated down the Danube. I think our favorite experience was the night we had dinner at the chef's table. They even made cakes for our anniversary and Marc Johnson birthday. We very much enjoyed the cruise! The staff was absolutely stellar, as was the food and the accommodations. I did notice that much of our price probably went to pay for other people's free drinks!! The sommeliers were always a bit taken aback when we asked them to take away the liquor glasses!
We were well cared for, and saw wonderful sights. We should have paid to take a smaller boat out to the glacier; I should have known the big ship couldn't go very close. I enjoyed wandering through the towns. Probably my favorite part was seeing whales, porpoises, otters, eagles. No bears, moose or the like. We would probably have needed to take a land trip for those.
Regent definitely seems the way to go. 750 passengers was a great size. Some day we might want to do a river cruise.

We want our kids and their spouses to experience this too! We arrived home Sunday, Feb 4th, and the Jensen Family newsletter was due that night. (I am a Jensen and we have had a sibling newsletter that has been going out every month for the past 38 years! There are 7 of us, spread throughout the country, but we have stayed close.). Here is a portion of what I shared in the newsletter:
I am typing this newsletter from our hotel room on our last day of our trip, while looking out the window to view the crashing waves of the ocean onto the beach. This resort sits right on the beach and the daily scenery is picture-perfect and I feel like we've been living in a postcard!!! Our window is an entire wall. It is floor-to-ceiling glass and allows for the most exquisite viewing of all the scenery around us. On this Hyatt property, there are 2 high-rising hotels, one has levels 1 -10, and the other is labeled 11 - 20. We are on level 19, so we have quite the view. There are 5 restaurants, 5 swimming pools, hot tubs, a gym, a salon, daily activities and excursions, live entertainment, fitness classes, dance classes, and RELAXATION! We especially like the relaxation and the non-scheduled day, if we choose. It's like being on a cruise ship, but being on land instead. All meals are included. Lounging at the beach and reading a book is wonderful. The weather is nice. Because we are in their winter months, the temperature has hovered between 70 -80. I'll send a few pictures. Here at the resort I have also noticed there are no school-age children - perhaps because they are still in school and weren't able to join their mom and dad on vacation. There have been 3 or 4 weddings here in the last 3 days. One was a Hindu wedding and the attire for the entire wedding party was absolutely beautiful. The bride was stunning in her red and gold traditional gown, veils and jewelry. Looking back over this week, we have such great memories & pictures! Perhaps we need to schedule our next Jensen Siblings retreat here! Seriously!- Shirlene D.

The cruise was great. We were told more times than I can count how fortunate we were to be there at that time. We had the most amazing weather. To the tune of I think I dawned my jacket twice. No rain! Sunny and in the 70's the entire trip!!! Definitely something for the history books. We went to Dawes Glacier and we go the furthest up the channel than the Captain had ever gone before!! We saw the most amazing scenery and got the greatest pictures. The sky there was amazing. I am told it is not always like that. Like it is never like that. So, we count our blessings and pray for more like that. I loved the concierge package we got, thank you for the suggestion. We got to ride on the bow all the way into Juneau the morning we arrived there. We rode the train in Skagway all the way to Carcross, Yukon, Canada. We had a great time. Thank you for helping us cruise newbies with our experience. Next time, we will do the same thing, but with another couple. Seems most passengers had another couple they were there with. Such fun, such good memories. We hope to do it again, sometime.- John H.

They really enjoyed the cruise a lot. There were a few hiccups along the way but they definitely have managed. They really enjoyed each stop, they really enjoyed Santorini. They were disappointed that they missed Mykonos due to the weather, they couldn't dock. They really enjoyed having the different excursions and tours. Here are a couple "gee whizz" things:
- On the first day I was shocked — the dining room manager tracked me down with my Princess medallion. He approached and said, he wanted me to come with him to the dining room so he could show me where our family would sit each night and if it was ok. Apparently he had been told by the dining head a week before that we had a group of 25. He took me down and then escorted me back to where we started. What a great start!!
- We had reservations for the Crown Grill for the adults. The reservations were made for multiple small groups. When I went to verify reservations they could not accommodate pushing the tables together. Because we didn't stop in Victoria they had lunch available that day. So everything worked out.
- Using the wedding chapel for our birthday party was great!! It was wonderful to have a place that accommodated the whole group and they were very helpful.
- The young adults loved the trivia games, etc. provided by the ship. The goal was to win a whole set of coasters. (Which they did!)
- When mom added one of Heather's kids to her room the room attendant was helpful!
- We scheduled a whale watch in Juneau for the whole group. We had our own bus and boat. Because we were one group they said they showed us more, which was super fun!!- Julie W.

We had a great time. I loved it all. It was beautiful and our accommodations were great. My family seemed to enjoy the experience also. I loved seeing how aware of the environment the Scandinavians are. The use of bikes and scooters and the use of just what is needed instead of excess was refreshing. I did not get my fill of the fjords. I would have loved to have spent more time on the water looking up. Our views were more of looking down on them but still amazing. Of course the views were exceptional, and the staff on the boat were as well. I thought they were limited by the policies as far as getting food and drinks out timely.
Scott Hammer did a great job! He helped us choose the right ship, dates, itinerary, and price. He maybe even arranged the perfect weather for us! We enjoyed sunny, blue skies and 60-70 degree days in Alaska!

We had a nice time on the Celebration. I liked the boat much better than other Carnival boats which all seem very similar and the lay out is getting old. Celebration was very unique and refreshing. I am not a huge fan of the ports we went to because I have been to them before. Amber Cove was probably my favorite because we went to Ocean World and had a good experience with the dolphins and snorkeling aquarium. San Juan wasn't too exciting, and St Maarten was a bust because it rained the entire day so our beach visits weren't good. It's the third time to St Maarten so I am probably finished with it, plus the traffic on the island was horrible. It took twice as long to get around the island. We had a great time because of the boat and being with our daughter, son in law and grand kids. I would highly recommend the boat which was my favorite part of the cruise. We are looking forward to our Mediterranean cruise this August.- John N.

The Iceland trip was amazing. Once in a lifetime trip. I really enjoyed the black sand beaches watching the waves come in. It was crazy to see how forceful they were. I also couldn’t believe the waterfalls they had. I did have fish and chips one night that was really good.
The first hotel was not impressive. I’m not trying to be rude but the bathroom always smelled like sewer. They had a sign saying it was because the water had sulfur in it but none of the other hotels had the smell. The shower was smaller than an RV shower. Don’t get me wrong, the trip really was amazing.
The tour guide and bus driver were awesome. I’m ready to go on another trip, this time somewhere warm:)

We had an amazing trip and zero complaints. There were only 14 people (and we were 9 of them) on our bus so it felt like a private tour and everyone left as great friends. One young solo traveler connected with the kids in our group from day one and another couple from the UK has kept in touch and invited us to their home for a vacation. The tour guide slipped on some ice half way through the tour and broke her arm so the bus driver took over and did a fabulous job.
Iceland was more than any of us could have imagined and the Northern Lights were showing off like crazy while we were there. The waterfalls were like nothing we’ve ever seen and I’m still trying to wrap my head around the massive size and power of them. How in the world is there that much water on an island non stop? Incredible! I think we are still on Iceland high and some have even mentioned going back in the summer months for round two.
Hotels and food was great although we ate mostly American food. Most were not one to try things we couldn’t pronounce so pizza, burgers and fish and chips were a perfect choice.

We really enjoyed the round trip direct flight from SLC to CUN. Other times that we have been to Mexico we always had a layover in Texas somewhere. Arriving at the Cancun airport was a different experience. Their customs area sure could use some improvements in expediting the incoming process. Once through the gauntlet of vendors we boarded the bus, but had to wait up to an hour for the last of the passengers to board either from our flight or some other flight. The bus ride was comfortable and pleasant until since the time took longer to get to our hotel the assistant driver handed out alcoholic drinks to those in the back. By the time they were left off at their hotel we could tell they were pretty "borrachos"!
The Riu Playacar was an excellent "all-inclusive" hotel. The food was excellent in all of the restaurants, the accommodations were clean, the grounds were well manicured, and the hotel staff were very attentive to our needs and wants. On the beach and around the pools, we had all that we could or would want to drink. Through Delta Vacations there were several excursions available and we took the one up to Coba. The day before we left, the hotel provided Covid tests for our return to the US. The flight back was great, as well as the time it took to get through customs here in SLC; although the walk took forever!

We had a really great time and absolutely loved Live Aqua Cancun! It had beautiful rooms, great staff, delicious food, and an amazing view! We took one day and spent it completely at the resort, and during that day we went to the spa and got massages and that was awesome. If I had to choose though, I would say my personal favorite part of the resort was probably the food. Especially the seafood restaurant on the beach and the Hidden Garden restaurant. Even now just thinking about the food there makes me want to go back.

We scheduled an extended family trip with a toddler to an all inclusive resort in Cancun, Mexico for March of 2020. Due to Covid-19 we needed to reschedule to October 2020. A simple phone call to Scott and everything was set for October. Once we arrived we had the privilege of adding surviving a hurricane to our list of 2020 activities. The Resort we were booked with provided transportation to a safe lodging site with activities, and all meals were provided. As the weather was calming down we decided to extend our trip and all it took was an email to Scott and we added an extra two days.

Winter is “not” the time to travel to Tahiti even though no one wants to emphasize that. We experienced downpours of rain which made some of the ports and ship tough to enjoy due to weather.
I got to enjoy Bora Bora which was the highlight of my trip. That’s my favorite island experience and I’m so grateful for that! We swam with sharks and rays but the deep water with sharks was amazing!!!! A true highlight for me.
We appreciated the shipboard credit and used it for excursions and spa. That was a great incentive for us to do more while there. Thank you so much.- Keli C.
The cruise was fantastic! Tahiti just has a different feel than Hi, so exotic! The people are all very nice.
We really enjoyed the butler luxuries. Abner made reservations, changed reservations, brought breakfast to room most days. (24 hr room service) What ever we asked for we had within 20 minutes. The complete staff remembered our names and were very nice.
I loved the size of the ship, few people on board to look at and excursions were also small groups.
But on the other hand its a SMALL ship, not very many common areas or much going on at night.. Was fine with us tho.
In talking to the locals Dec is not a good time to go to Tahiti. We lost 1 day and half due to rain, the other days were mostly cloudy.
Boro Bora was the exception we had beautiful weather, you can see on my FB.
We went to the big market on Tahiti. it was fun. The rest of the stops are for water sports and private barbecues. You don't really go ashore and do much. Tiny towns if any! But that's ok! I loved the remoteness and no crowds.
The ship would offer specials at the spa. One day it was two treatments for 110 the other time it was a 50 min massage for 99. Other ships don't ever discount the spa, so that was quite nice.
The food was very good. We did a galley tour and saw how immaculate and clean they are. Food after service is thrown out. There is one baker and he makes fresh bread, pastries every night. so good.
We picked up snorkeling gear on day one, had in our room throughout the cruise.
PG has their own beach on two islands. Bora Bora, free tender. on Taha'a there was a large barbecue, fish chicken ribs, salads everything. drinks. It was free not an excursion.
The ships a tiny bit tired, needs new carpets and small stuff. I understand its going into refurbishment this year.

According to the hotel, the sea weed has become more of a problem over the past few years and is very sporadic. It's sure unfortunate for the hotels because I'm sure they get frustrated customers and it's something outside of their control. There was clean up going on the entire time we were there. Lots of workers on the beach raking and tractors scooping up the big piles. Crazy!

The resort was amazing. We picked the best resort and had VIP rooms. I was so impressed that you put this together with short notice. Thanks so much! My wife wanted more beach activity and because of barrier on the beach we could not ride the waves the way she wanted. We did however, have a very relaxing and enjoyable time.- Kenneth L.

This was the most fun shore excursion that I did! My guide at Dunn's River Falls was so fun! Climbing the falls was so much more amazing than I thought it would be! Because we all of a sudden had a really crazy rain/thunderstorm, we were unable to do the Fern Gully ride, but we did get to do the river tubing. My guide was the BEST! He sang songs to us and made the trip so much fun! Definitely a must-do when you go to Jamaica! ShoreTrips was also the best decision because our group was SO small! We had about 20 people in our group for Dunn's River Falls and we only had 4 in our group for tubing! It would have just been 2, but we invited some people from the Dunn's River trip to go with us! It was so worth it! Definitely going to book with ShoreTrips for my next vacation!- Kasey H.
This was our first cruise experience and I want to do it again! The MSC Divina was absolutely gorgeous. It was very overwhelming when we first got onboard but we were put at ease by incredibly helpful, patient, and friendly staff; they were so accommodating and made everything simple to understand. The service we received for our stateroom was outstanding. The shows onboard had amazing talent, were entertaining, and most of them very worth the time to see. I enjoyed the wide variety of food offered through the buffet and restaurant dining. There were advantages to both and it was nice to have the option to dine at the restaurant or go to the buffet. The restaurant dining, which was incredibly beautiful, took a lot of time. Dinner was always at least a two hour experience; the service was good, just a little slow. We enjoyed the restaurant the most on the Gala nights. It took a while to get used to where everything was onboard – so much to look at, see, and do. We met some very nice people and enjoyed that a great deal. Get drink packages!!! This was our first cruise and we were WOW’d by the whole experience! I definitely would recommend this to others. For the most part I enjoyed the multi-cultural and multi-lingual nature of the cruise. Only a few times did the language barrier cause frustration – which in the end were not significant. As beginners to cruising, we were so confused and felt very un-informed on how things worked – in general and on this specific cruise line. It would have been nice to have greater clarification/understanding on how it all worked before we got to port. The information on-line did not prepare this beginner well enough in my opinion. This is was our first cruise experience. It was quite overwhelming at first. We had lots of questions. The crew on the ship was very helpful in helping us figure out the schedule and where we needed to be and when. This is an Italian company and I enjoyed the international environment of this cruise line; different languages and foods. The excursions were a great way for us newbies to explore the ports and sites free of the stress about getting around and getting back to the ship on time. This was a wonderful experience that we hope to repeat again with our children!- Kristen J.

My dream was to sail on the Oasis of the Seas and Scott helped me find a fun itinerary and a perfect inside balcony room over looking the promenade close to the outside water theater where we could sit on our balcony and watch them practice and perform, it was quite entertaining.
