We just returned from our amazing river trip on the Mekong. We only had 57 passengers on this trip so we were really pampered by the staff. We were keep busy with excursions both in the morning and the afternoon. So many temples and palaces to see. We did the pre and the post trips as well+ a pre pre trip to Bangkok. We always felt safe. It was fun exploring these countries and meeting the people who live there. On the down side tho, is that in the future, if I travel with AMA again, I will not use their air team to make my travel arrangements. They had us travel from the west coast of the USA across the country and the Atlantic to get to Bangkok. On the way home they had us travel west across 14 time zones to get home. Others who made their own travel arrangements traveled east across the international dateline. We also had a flight from Bangkok to Saigon. We were charged $560 each for a flight that lasted less than 2 hours. I checked online and the tickets were less than $200 each. AMA deserves to make a profit but I feel that we have been taken advantage of.

I needed a hotel in Knoxville -- and Karen always knows what I like. The HGI Knoxville Papermill was perfect and more than I expected for the price. Clean, Convenient, staff extra nice -- I thought breakfast was overpriced, so we went nextdoor to the Waffle House. :)
