Sandy is my hero! She volunteers for a group called Aphasia Recovery Connection, booking special cruises for patients and their family and friends. Last August, my friend and I drove from Dallas to Galveston, arriving late the evening before our aphasia cruise. When going through our paperwork that evening, we discovered that I had left my passport at home. To go back and get it would be a 9-hour round trip. I called Sandy to see if there was any other documentation that might be acceptable. She and her husband were heading to Galveston very early the next morning, and volunteered to drive out of their way to retrieve my passport. I can't thank her enough, not only for working with an excellent non-profit, but for saving my friend and I a grueling drive. She is simply the best!!!- Susan O.

I often sail on Royal Caribbean as a volunteer on the Aphasia Recovery Connection cruises. Generally, I enjoy my time on the RC ships. The Grandeur of the Seas is one of the smaller ships in the fleet. I believe I have sailed on this particular ship before, but I have been on the larger ships to have gotten "spoiled". The same service and stellar staff was present, but not the luxury. I was traveling alone. I absolutely LOVED that. It was the most relaxing cruise I have ever been on. I recommend solo cruising for introverts. I didn't have to "meet up" with anyone and only did what I wanted to do.

Sandy is the official Cruise Planner for Aphasia Recovery Connection (ARC). It is a group of people with complex medical and communication needs. Sandy ALWAYS goes above and beyond what is expected of a travel agent/company to serve the many needs of the group. We had 32 folks with aphasia, their caregivers, 5 Speech-Language Pathologists and 10 college students. Our group spanned age ranges (pre-teens thru upper geriatrics) physical capabilities and interests...and Sandy and company worked hard to make sure all had a great cruise. On top of it all, Sandy is as sweet as pie!
