We had a wonderful time in Scotland, and were very grateful for your planning. We wanted to thank you for setting up our last minute trip and for bearing with us on the changes we made. The Argyll Hotel was perfect for our needs. Clean cute and 2 blocks away from our girls dorm. The hop on/off tour of Glasgow were very enjoyable and flexible, with lots and lots of potential stops and things to do. The 10.5 hour tour of the Highlands was wonderful. Our tour guide was a hoot - a great storyteller, and was great at picking sites for the best pictures. We were really appreciative that you recommended both good raincoats and umbrellas and proper boots. It did rain most of the time and the experience would not have been so pleasant if we didn't invest in the equipment to keep us dry. We wanted to thank you for all the extras you provided-what a nice touch. We truly appreciate your thoughtfulness-the wine I enjoyed in particular! Venice-really nice attention to detail by Europe Express. Getting off a red eye and not having to think about how to get a water taxi etc was really helpful. Hotel was really nice, small rooms (which I know is typical) but in a great location from our perspective (quiet and away from the central part of town). We would stay there again. The excursions from Europe Express were nice and informative. Again at the end, having EE send a person to hold our hand onto the water taxi and onto the cruise ship was really helpful. Cruise- GREAT room (nice job on your part), the balcony was exactly like we thought close to 2x of a normal balcony. Celebrity is very nice. i would say on par with Princess in most ways. Than you for the dinner at the Italian Steakhouse, It was very good! Barcelona-EE did a nice job with the Mercedes transfers, very prompt and nice. The hotel had TINY rooms, but was in a very good location from our perspective (quiet and away from the city center). We would stay there again. All in all Ann Marie gets an A, Europe Express gets a B we were not very impressed with the Barcelona tours Europe Express set up. - John N.
Ann Marie Vis of Cruise Planners helped our family plan an amazing vacation! She met with me several times to help us pinpoint the type of vacation we wanted, and to make sure every detail was attended to! We didn’t really know what we wanted to begin with, but Ms. Vis had multiple booklets describing an assortment of vacations to help us see what our options were, and was invaluable as far as booking the correct amenities and accommodations for us! Ms. Vis of Cruise Planners took care of everything, including airfare, transportation to and from the airport, and she found us the most fantastic all-inclusive for our active family vacation. In fact, we used VIP (the transportation people to and from the airport that Ms. Vis arranged for us) to book our off-site excursions of zip-lining and snuba diving/power boating. Every step of the way, we were well taken care of. I doubt that we would have signed up for the Club Premium if Ms. Vis hadn’t advised it, but it was well worth it! The Club Premium allowed us to book dinners at the restaurants on shorter notice, gave us a 10% discount at the on-site stores, and we also could partake of more intimate dinners at some of the special restaurants (that would normally have a charge added to it) included in our all-inclusive, as well as special little meals at the Club Premium offices. Also, our room service meals were free due to participating in Club Premium, and we received a bottle of champagne and an extremely tasty bottle of 8-year-old rum, gratis! Ms. Vis added her personal touch to our vacation by providing adorable (and easily recognizable) luggage tags for each of us, and drawstring backpacks which proved immensely helpful throughout the trip! Ms. Vis was a pleasure to work with, and I plan to use her vacation planning expertise in the future! Our family wanted to try an all-inclusive resort, and we’d heard that Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, was beautiful. We picked the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe because it offered many amenities: 7 different restaurants, multiple sports for our family to participate in (beach volleyball, tennis, golf, pools, swimming in the ocean, ping pong, kayaking, gambling in the casino, windsurfing, soccer and sailing) and our 4 kids are all over 18 and quite active. Thanks to Cruise Planners, we had a fantastic, memorable vacation! My husband and I had an amazing beachfront suite (Jr. Suite Deluxe Oceanfront, Club Premium) that included a large room with a spacious, double shower, a living area with a small fridge stocked with drinks (pop, juice, and it had beer, too), a desk, a snack supply, sofa, cocktail table, large bed, and a private balcony with a hot tub, 2 comfy chairs and a small table. Because we were part of the Club Premium, we also had one complimentary bottle of champagne and one of very tasty 8-year-old rum! Our 4 adult kids (18, 21, 23, 27), were in a Family Junior Suite, and they were just as thrilled with their 2 bedroom, 2 bath, living room with balcony accommodations. We all felt like we were “living large”! A couple of words of advice: if you plan to golf, bring your own golf balls (and clubs if you plan to golf enough to make it worth the hassle)! It cost $21 for 3 balls! Bring lots more suntan lotion than you think you will need, because it is very expensive at the resort ($25 per bottle). Make sure you have some cash. It will cost $10 per person for a visa as soon as you get off the plane, plus you will want to have tip money for any excursions you go on, and you may want to purchase dvd’s of your experience. There weren’t a lot of inexpensive little shops (at least we didn’t see any), but there were gift shops on site – some pricey, some reasonable. We did 2 excursions outside the Barcelo Bavaro: ziplining and snuba diving/power boating. . . .GREAT FUN! As far as the restaurants go, our 2 favorites were the Japanese (but make sure to request an hibachi table) and the Spanish restaurant. Sign up in advance for whatever restaurant you wish to dine in. Yu can sign up days in advance, and that works well. We never actually made it to the casino, so we can’t tell you what that’s like, and we tried the tennis, but it was so hot, and we were so awful at it, that we didn’t last long. We thought we’d try soccer, but the ball always seemed to be checked out and not returned, so that didn’t work out for us. Volleyball, however, was great fun, as was kayaking, paddle boating and sailing. For windsurfing, you had to take a $50 lesson unless you already knew how to windsurf, but after that you could windsurf all you wanted for free. And we NEVER had to worry about a lack of beach chairs, or drinks! Oh yeah, and there IS a swim-up bar! One last bit of advice: If you are a reader, bring lots of books or a Nook or Kindle for reading while sunbathing. - Denise S.
This last spring my wife and I celebrated our 30 year anniversary, my daughter's college graduation, my older son's 21st birthday and my youngest son's high school graduation. We wanted to take the whole family to Hawaii for a big family trip. Ann Marie helped us plan every part of our trip. She took care of the flights, car rentals, hotels, and the activities we wanted. We had a wonderful time! Everything went as planned without a hitch. The accommodations far exceeded our expectations and the views were spectacular!
