Don’t like the name Cruise Planners fool you. Lina DiCola and crew can do so much more than plan cruises! She helped plan a customized, once in a lifetime, trip to Normandy, France. I told her where I wanted to visit, my timeframe, and my budget and she came back with a suggested itinerary. With just a few tweaks, she finalized a list of transportation (flight, train, executive car service), hotels, and some excursions that I had not anticipated. For example, Hop-on/Hop-off Batobus shuttle on the Seine in Paris and Normandy Sightseeing Tours for the D-Day Landing Beaches. Her itinerary provided detailed instructions and local contacts for each portion of my trip, including exact locations and times for pick up and check ins. Her expertise eased my mind while traveling alone in a country in which I am not familiar with the language. She also dispensed her expert advice for situations that I had not anticipated (transfers, customs, etc...). Her selection for hotels were in quiet, yet convenient locales and were much more luxurious than had I selected them myself. All hotels included lavish full breakfasts, easy access from train stations, comfortable amenities, friendly staff, and close to sights and city central. My 8-day trip in France that Lina helped plan for me was perfection, unforgettable, and magical! My trip would not have been the same without her planning! Lina has planned several of our vacations and is always very helpful and gives us great insight. This time was very different. Out original cruise was cancelled due to COVID restrictions and in 4 hours Lina was able to find us a new cruise and had everything set up. The first cruise we all backed out because of health issues and you were so accommodating. You would never believe what has been going on this time. I mentioned my accident in December. But I've also lost about 13% of my vision in both eyes since around that time and am therefore legally unable to drive and was fired from my job as of April 1st. I refused to let this stop me from going this time. I've had multiple MRIs, EKGs (Drs thought I'd had a stroke due to a hole in my heart...there's been a lot!), an EEG, 30 day heart monitor, next month I'll go to Duke where they may consider doing a brain biopsy to help discover the problem. I'm now in the process of applying for disability.
I tell you all that to say that for 6 days I didn't think about any of that. I had no worries. And when I saw that note with an onboard credit, I literally was brought to tears. This may be something 'small' or 'routine' that you do for clients, but I want you to know the impact it had on me, personally.
Thank you for making our family vacation so amazing that we already want to plan the next one... it's not easy to have a group of 12 enjoy spending time together!!! And we know just who to call when we're ready!

Lina ~ We had a fabulous time in Jamaica! I am so glad you happened to be in my life at the time I needed the perfect gift for Wray's retirement! It was the perfect gift and we thoroughly enjoyed our first all-inclusive vacation! And our first time in Jamaica! The only small glitch we had was coming back through Fort Lauderdale Sunday evening with bad weather. We ended up about 3 hours behind our scheduled flight - we landed in Richmond at 230am instead of 1130. But at least Wray didn't have to work around work on Monday!
And, what a surprise to have Erica add the gift of a couple's massage! She said you were so quick and made it super easy to get that taken care of for her!
Oh, and I'm so glad you also convinced us to try the butler service! Cannot imagine doing Sandals w/o it now!! Our 2 butlers were fabulous. They spoiled us!!

After spending the great deal of time searching through the individual sites of the cruise lines I found it way easier to search from the cruise planners web site for the cruise I wanted since they deal with ALL the cruise lines. Thanks for the bottle of wine, sucked it down Wednesday night. Got back to the ‘Burg Friday around sixish thanks to an ugly three hour, Friday-afternoon-three-day-weekend-traffic-jam on I-95. The worst part of the Cruise. Getting to the airplane on Monday morning for the flight to Miami was nerve-racking too. 7:10 a.m. is too early to travel with a family. Lesson learned: Do a better job planning the air trip.
No issues travelling without passports. Birth certificates and ID cards were good.
Imagination is a 15 year old ship and is showing wear. However, I have no qualms with the ship and its age. Stateroom was plenty big enough and comfortable. Amenities in the rooms were great. Lesson learned: Location of the stateroom was too far forward. A lot of rock-and-roll if the sea state is nasty. Tuesday night and into most of the day Wednesday the Gulf was very rough. Shut down some of the breakfast food lines due to rough seas. Many people sick including my wife. Thankfully it ended as we approached Cozumel.
Key West was okay, hotter than heck but still okay. Not really enough time to do anything major. Took the family for a stroll to some of the landmarks and then got back on the ship.
Cozumel was very hot too. (Expected heat from both during both shore excursions). Got to Cozumel an hour late due to sea conditions. Kids did not want to see anything historic or museum like. All they wanted to do was shop and for four hours, that is what we did. My daughter got in the water near the pier for about five minutes and then we got back on the ship. On and off the ship was easy everywhere we went. That includes the original embark and debarkation. In fact, debarkation took less than ten minutes.
We were sitting in the Miami Airport less than an hour after we walked out of our Stateroom. Then a long wait for boarding the ride home. (Great piece of advice to take a Taxi. Taxis were $24.00 from the pier to the airport and vice versa. Shuttles ran anywhere from $9-16.00 a piece for a one-way trip.)
Overall: Had a great time and it was a great cruise. Kids enjoyed it a lot too. The wife enjoyed no chores, laundry cooking relaxing environment too. Disappointed with the desserts (all venues) and some of the entrees in the fine dinning room, but the food was plentiful. The swimming pools were far too small and too few. Almost impossible to get in a pool due to the million kids in the pools. Saw two shows on the ship, we all enjoyed both. Exploring the ship was fun as was just relaxing on the upper decks in the sun and heat and watching all the people. Some people have no shame.
Did not gamble, once. Just not in the mood I guess.
Very impressed with the friendliness of the ships company. What a great crew. They made the trip better. If we did without on the ship. it was our fault. Had a great host in the fine dinning room two out of the four nights and was very helpful and friendly.
I am sure there is a ton I am forgetting, but for now, this is what is on the top of my head. Thank-you for setting up the trip and doing all the hard stuff. Next time I will be able to give you better direction for us.
There will be a next time too. Probably Alaska.

Thank you for your card. Today is our second day back to work and it is hard to adjust back to reality. Our cruise and cruise tour was awesome. We had a Wonderful time! The weather was perfect. Every time we were on land, it was sunny (minus one day which was hazy) and only rained while we were on the ship. The food, scenery, service, everything was great.
By the way, the shore excursion through Shore Trips in Skagway was our favorite. We greatly enjoyed having the driver to ourselves for the beginning of the day, and then the group was only 15 people. Way better than the normal 50 people tours. Couldn't have asked for a better driver/tour guide either. He was the best.
The only disappointment we had was we wished our Denali tour was the long 8 hour Wilderness tour instead of the Tundra tour. At least, we know for next time. Also during the cruise tour, there wasn't much to do during the evening time. That was hard to adjust too because of the cruise; we were all about the nightlife. However, we had a great time and Alaska was one of our favorite trips.

I found Lina Dicola at Cruise Planners by accident. I already had taken several cruises and had an agent but found out I was doing alot of the work myself, so I randomly called some 800 #'s I found in our Cruise Travel magazine. From our first conversation I liked her voice and eagerness to help me find the best price on our favorite line Royal Carribean. When I look for prices I usually look for a large group that travels with us. I am a very factual person and I know what I want and Lina and sometimes Dave Dicola have always worked with me on prices and have addressed all my concerns. They even accompanied us on a Panama Canal cruise a few years ago and we had a ball. In May of 2009 our group booked a cruise with Lina on NCL to Hawaii. It will be our first free style cruise and Lina and Dave will hopefully join us again.
