“The only difference between a dream and a goal is a timeline”
This quote can mean many things to different people but for Mother/Daughter duo Shirley and Tara, this became the motivation to experience as much of the world as possible. Having spent her entire life in her beautiful, albeit tiny corner of the planet, Tara had always wanted to see what lies beyond the sun kissed shores of south east Florida.
In typical college student fashion, Tara was spending a tireless evening studying for whatever upcoming exam was on the horizon, the TV in the background offering just enough ambient noise to keep her awake while burning the midnight oil. Having looked up from her text book, a picturesque landscape illuminated the television screen. Brightly colored homes lined a rocky shoreline, tiny white boats peppered the dark blue ocean, and rolling fog was hanging low along the sea line. It looked like heaven.
The place in question ended up being the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada and within the year, a week long road trip up the East coast from Orlando, Florida to Halifax, Nova Scotia with Tara and three of her friends was planned, booked and executed. Naturally, the first person she called upon arriving was her mom, the first words out of her mouth…”Mom, you need to see this place”
That was over a decade ago and since then, Tara and Shirley have discovered their love of traveling, exploring and making memories. From the alpine lakes of the Rocky Mountains to the arctic blue glaciers of southern Iceland, Shirley and Tara are on a mission to turn every travel dream into a goal, and every goal into a story.
