Our trip to Alaska started with our wonderful Cruise Planners Expert - Troylyn Goldsberry. She is an impressive person with so much passion it is a true pleasure to work with her. We were all incredibly pleased with the accommodations and the price she was able to secure for us. Just before leaving on our trip Troylyn came to lunch with the eight of us Utah travelers so she could meet us in person!! What a kind thing to do by taking time to see us off before the cruise. She even took a picture of our ship leaving as it passed her house. How incredibly nice is that!!
We travelled on the Holland America Eurodam. My husband and I were the only first-time cruisers in the group. The cruise was in September, and we left port with sun and blue skies! But we had the misfortune of having harsh weather during the rest of the trip. But, despite the weather problems, we all had an awesome time rocking and rolling on the ship, and taking walks in the rain! The rocking and rolling caught a few in our group off guard, but it did not keep us down because the sites were beautiful. Glacier Bay was stunning to see. We even got to see some deer grazing in the grass at Icy Straight Point, we had so much fun. We enjoyed meals together, watching shows, and even playing cards. Even though some of our excursions were cancelled due to the weather, we all still managed to entertain ourselves each day.
My husband's birthday was on the second day of the cruise. We decided to celebrate with a special dinner at one of the special dining rooms. The next day after dinner in the main dining room our waiter surprised us and brought my husband a piece of cake at desert time with Happy Birthday written on it. That was so special.

Troylyn arranged my daughter’s wedding cruise to Alaska a year ago. I discovered that cruising is a wonderful way to see places. So, she booked my cruise on the Star Princess Inaugural Voyage in October 2025. I had the most amazing time. With her knowledge of the industry, I got good deals including air fare. We couldn't be more thrilled with the amazing experience our entire family had on our Alaskan cruise through Glacier Bay. It would have never happened without Troylyn! We decided to do a cruise as our honeymoon after our wedding, but invited the entire family to join as well. As a large group of 12 people, coordinating a trip plus a wedding on top of it, for so many people could have been a nightmare, but Troylyn handled everything with such professionalism and attention to detail. From the initial planning stages to the final day of our trip, every aspect was seamless. We worked her for over a year and she put out so many fires without us even knowing it.
Every question was answered quickly, and every concern was addressed with patience and expertise. She assisted the older folks with tech problems and was able to place everyone in a perfect cabin, close enough to see everyone but far enough to not go crazy! We truly felt like we were in the best hands, and the entire trip exceeded our expectations. It was the trip of a lifetime for our family, and we are so grateful for Troylyn's hard work and dedication in making it happen. For some perspective, I had contacted Princess directly and was put in contact with one of their own agents. It was not a great experience, the sales person was aggressive and I felt like we were getting swept to the side just to make a sale. I found Troylyn soon after, and she was amazing; she walked us through the whole process (especially as first time cruisers), was never pushy, and offered us the best options backed up with numbers to prove it.
Lastly, while we know she can't control it, I choose to believe Troylyn somehow booked the perfect weather for us. It was sunny and beautiful everyday (in Alaska in autumn???) and we even saw the Northern Lights!!
