It was a special birthday for my wife, and it called for a very special spot for our vacation. I did my research and chose the Maldives. But how do you choose a resort out of the approximately 120 that have been built on these individual atolls in the Indian Ocean? Despite being a frequent traveler, I realized I needed help, and for several weeks interviewed a number of travel consultants that frankly left me as confused as ever about what was clearly a rather complex set of asks. We were facing 5 flights, choosing a resort that had the restaurants and activities they we were interested in i.e. fishing, diving, bioluminescence, over the water rooms, private pool, etc. But when Myrtle called, we knew in five minutes that she was the travel consultant we were looking for; one that was going to put the work in and communicate regularly during the planning process. My wife, who was actually a travel agent when I met her many many years ago, fell in love with Myrtle’s professionalism, and we both fell in love with her cheerful disposition and patient commitment to getting us the answers to our myriad of questions we needed answered to make the necessary decisions for the trip.
Suffice to say, the Maldives, and our vacation was absolutely spectacular. We’ve been to beaches in the Caribbean, Hawaii, Africa, Europe, the Seychelles, the Cook islands -but none of them compare to the Maldives, and the resort that Myrtle helped us choose (from several options she came up with) turned out to be perfect for us. “Other than my beautiful wife, Myrtle is the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with over 30 some years of travel. To say I highly recommend her would be an understatement. She is a pro and a joy to work with. Thanks again, Myrtle.
