Cyndi Richards recently helped us plan a group trip to ARUBA and I must say was very responsive to all our questions and concerns prior, and even during, our trip. She did a GREAT job providing us information, various travel tips, suggestions on side trips, what to expect when leaving ARUBA, etc.
We received our travel packets about a week in advance with everything that we needed for our trip.
We selected the RIU Antillas resort for our vacation stay. Upon arriving at the resort and making our way to our rooms, we received a nice little thank you goodie from Cyndi. Nice way to start the trip!
Our rooms at the RIU Antillas were OK. They were clean, but a little dated. Not as nice as I had hoped for it being an adults only resort. The carpet in the hallways had the musty odor which is pretty typical of resorts in the Caribbean.
One of the couples in our group visited the sister resort next door - RIU Aruba - which was a family resort and said that the lobby itself was much nicer than ours and which gave you a better first impression overall.
Even though the rooms were dated, but the rest of the facility was very nice - pools, outside areas, beach area.
But, I must say, this resort had probably the best food that we have had at any all-inclusive that we have stayed at. Even the dinner at the buffet was great. There were 4 different restaurants on site. They opened at 6:30 but did not take reservations; at least for the early seating. You had to stand in line and wait. Once they filled the first seating, then they would give you a buzzer to notify you. Most of the time the 2nd seating wasn't until 8:00 or after. We tried 3 of the 4 restaurants, and they were all very good.
And the service at the hotel was GREAT as well. From the housekeepers, to the bartenders, to the guys on the beach dragging chassis lounges for you ..... they were all very helpful and tried to get you taken care of as soon as possible.
Overall, we had a great trip. Thanks Cyndi for making our trip extra special!
