My apologies. I thought I responded to your email but then realized I
had not. It's always hectic when we return from a cruise with trying to
catch up on the mail and laundry! Yes, we did receive the summer sausage
and mustard. Thank you for that! It was a nice surprise and treat upon
our return! And while we were upset and disappointed at first when the
cruise was delayed and 2 ports out of 4 cancelled, we ultimately had a
great time! In fact, it may have been the best cruise so far!
Our servers in the main dining room were warm, friendly, attentive and
just overall wonderful as was our room steward! The entertainment was
great even though we had seen 2 of the shows 2 years ago. We didn't mind
seeing them again and enjoyed so much more of the nightlife! We also
thought the cruise director, Tornado Tonya, was the best we ever had!
She was full of energy and personality! We did look into booking again
next summer but we can't commit to dates at this time and prefer to go
in June not August but we'll see. So keep sending us emails and we will
see where our next vacation takes us.

We had a wonderful time. We enjoyed cruising with Princess. The Discovery is a beautiful ship, and our mini-suite was fantastic. We really enjoyed the Premier package. And having the Medallion was was so convenient for many things. I think all cruise lines should have that feature. Everything was perfect including all the transfers. Thank you setting everything up for us. It made our vacation a very smooth experience. The Westin was fabulous. We had a great room with a view of the marina. Vancouver is beautiful. We'd like to go back and stay a little longer to explore it.
We were able to embark on the ship around 12:30 pm. We completed everything needed to be able to use the "green lane" at the port, but the crew at the cruise port in Vancouver seemed to not have consistent information, and sent a lot of us to other lanes which made for a longer process. We figured it out and changed lanes, but it backed everything up. It seemed not so well-organized. Passengers talked (complained) about it, but once on the ship it didn't seem to phase anyone any longer. It didn't for us! We were happy to be on board. Our captain apologized that evening in his announcements to everyone for the long delay in boarding the ship which was appreciated.
Thanks again for the delicious gift of assorted cheeses, sausages and crackers. And, also for your great service and expertise which made our trip so wonderful. We definitely like cruising. We'll be looking into our next destination, and be in touch with you for booking and ideas.

We did book onboard for next year because we thought we were getting a good deal and they confirmed that you would be notified and get credit. We still will need to buy the insurance and pay for the gratuities. We hope you can work your magic like you have in the past and either get us a better room and/or if the price goes down.

The Celebrity Solstice was a lovely ship to be on. The food really was superb and our waiters at dinner were attentive and fun to interact with. We gave them very good reviews on a link sent to my daughter after the trip (I never got the link).
The flaw on board at first was with the WiFi, which 3 of us paid for, mine was the basic, the kids paid for the bigger package. It took quite a few trips to the customer relations desk to get it straightened out the first 2-3 days, tiresome and disappointing. As soon as they fixed it, we would get back to our rooms and it would fail. The good news is that it did get corrected in time. I'm not sure why the first few days were such a mess with this, but there were LONG lines at the customer desk with people having the same issue. It was important to the 4 of us to be able to connect with each other while on board to coordinate our day.
Our son used the pool hot tub, and the kids enjoyed their drink packages. Al and I had a couple of cocktails each day and paid for them without a package, as was the plan, and that worked out fine for us. The various bars and entertainment/games were all fun to share with the kids. Especially we enjoyed the Trivia each the morning. The guys won a tournament in Bocce Ball at the very end of the cruise and were elated. (A new game to Al and me). Cherie and I joined in with the watercolor painting offered in their large observatory room, which was a real treat for us to connect with.
The theater acts were above average, some very good. The other entertainment, singers mid-ship each night, I thought were excellent.
The ports also were great to share as a family with mostly great weather. The Hubbard Glacier (which Al and I had seen in 2000) eventually turned sunny, unlike the 1st time we went. The kids really enjoyed this, too. In Juneau the Red Dog Saloon was hilarious, the older man/comedian sang and told jokes, while we 4 drank Alaskan beer - a very nice memory and we shared some big laughs.

We liked 90% of the Virgin cruise. It could be a preference in the future. We especially liked the restaurant-included program...Much better. And best onboard staff we have encountered. On the other hand, you get nickeled and dined on beverages....

I wanted to share my reflections about the MSC Seascape cruise.
The good stuff first:
We really liked the destinations, and we are considering a visit just to those places…San Juan, Puerto Plata.
Our room attendant and dinner servers were great! Friendly, attentive and liked to chat.
The not so good stuff:
The majority of the crew was cold, disinterested, seemed really sad and overwhelmed. They did not respond well to questions and gave the impression all week that they wanted to be left alone.
I’ve never been on a cruise where the crew was so cold.
The ship was dirty. The cabins were cleaned daily but the carpet needed deep cleaning for stains. The white structures in the buffet areas were very dirty!
The foods at the buffet was edible and that’s it.
The disembarkment process was unnecessarily confusing. As per the written instructions we waited for 2hours in the theatre when we could have been off the ship.
I am going to place the MSC cruise line on my NO CRUISE SHIP LIST.
I did not receive a follow up survey from MSC so I could share my concerns.
Looking forward to my next cruise…and not on a MSC ship.

We arrived home late last night after a wonderful cruise on the Breakaway. Everything went well with the exception of our excursion of "Lucca and Pisa on Your Own". We were contacted the day before the excursion to inform us that the 2nd largest Comicon was happening in Lucca and it would be very crowded. They offered us a few other options if we wanted to change our plans. We decided to go because we wanted to see Lucca and Pisa. Our tour guide was not the best at keeping track of the people on the tour. There was about a 10 minute walk from the bus for each tour and he walked fast through crowds. I am not sure how some of the people kept up with him. When we were ready to leave Pisa, he was checking people off on the list and told people that they could walk to the parking lot on their own if they wanted. We made the mistake of following people who did not know where they were going. So we got lost on the way back to the bus. We called the tour guide after realizing we were lost. We told him where we were and he said, "That's pretty far away- about a 15 minute walk. I might have to leave you behind." So we ended up splitting a taxi with the other 4 people back to Livorno. Not all the tour guide's fault, but we figured it out in the end. Lesson learned. Stay with the tour guide. Don't follow other people.
There was a group of about 60 people who took the train to Florence on their own. They ended up getting stuck in a train station because someone committed suicide on the train tracks and another person had a heart attack on the train. They missed the ship and had to take a train to Civitavecchia the next morning. After I heard that, my troubles didn't really seem so bad.
Have a good weekend! We look forward to our next cruise. We purchased $1,000 in Cruise Next certificates so we will be planning more trips.

As our cruise is winding down, just wanted to let you know how it’s been going. We love, love the music venues here. The best of any cruise line we’ve been on. Quality is superb & the choice of classical, blues, rock or piano never disappoints. We haven’t felt the need to try their big theater as we love the Music Walk.
The food has been spectacular. The special dining room for suites with its expanded menu is excellent. Have been in one special restaurant (Canalleto - very good) & will be dining in two others tonight & tomorrow. Service has been very good. We love them having a concierge service for suites. (Something Princess really lacks)
With that being said the suite is subpar. For being the second largest suite it’s too small & we really need a dedicated sitting room. We’re constantly trying not to stub toes on furniture here & if one of us can’t sleep there is no place we can go in the room that won’t disturb the other. The shower is very small (about 2.5’ X 2.5’). We knew when we booked this that it didn’t have a separate sitting room but this is really like a junior suite & it has enforced our need for a real sitting room.
We will definitely be choosing cruises in the future by itinerary, not cruise line, with emphasis on smaller ships. Viking has definitely spoiled us & Japan will probably be our last Princess cruise.

Hi Wes- We had a fantastic cruise. Some of the services were cut back. Cabin service once a day. Dining room service was not up to par. We sat at a table for eight and several times one person didn't receive their food with the rest. I realize there was probably training going on. All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves. I personally had trouble adjusting to the Medallion concept. Kept trying to sneak up on the cabin door but always found it unlocked and ready. I wanted to leave a future deposit but had a hard time with the app.

Thanks for keeping me up to date. Princess refunded everything the end of May (trip, insurance and excursions). I didn't notice it earlier since it was refunded as a credit to my credit card. It will turn into cash rather quickly though since the work trips I've been on recently get charged to that card too. The Princess refund means I won't need to pay for those trips when the credit card bill arrives, but will get the cash when I get reimbursed for my travel from my expense reports. Otherwise that card only gets used for gas, restaurants and Costco purchase.

Thanks! We received quite a send off since it was fleet week in SF. There was an air show both Sat. and Sunday that featured the Blue Angels as well as another jet precision team called the Patriots. The captain delayed leaving since there were so many small ships in the area watching the show. Enjoyed Astoria (Columbia maritime museum, the column, and Fort Clatsop), Seattle (underground tour), Vancouver (city tour), and Victoria (Buschart gardens and the Butterfly aviary).

I apologize for the delayed response, it has been a busy couple of weeks getting back into the swing of things and working on wedding planning!
Thank you so much for your kind words and condolences. We are very blessed to have had the opportunity to spend one last incredible week with Roger on the cruise. We weren't sure he was going to make it on the cruise as his health has been suffering, but he was determined to see the whole family together one last time. As hard as it is saying goodbye, we know he is in a better place and we are happy knowing he passed at peace and fulfilled.
Please don't worry at all about the tone of your messages and no need to apologize, that was such a nice and thoughtful gift to come home to after a long day of traveling, and there was no way to predict his passing.

Words are not enough to express my gratitude in your providing such a wonderful trip to Scotland! The tours were great although the Scottish accent took a bit of getting used to. I didn't realize how in-depth the tours would be! Fantastic! Scottish history is long & complicated. The transport was comfortable enough that I could take a 15-min power nap & no one seemed to mind. May I suggest that when visiting Stirling castle -- take a stroll through the graveyard (I love old cemeteries) as well as the Kirk next to it where John Knox preached at coronation of James VI.
Our stay at the Sherbrooke Castle in Glasgow was magnificent!!! btw, it's usual rate posted at the desk is 150+ pounds per night so we got a deal. The train stop is at the bottom of the property across a bridge. Very nice neighborhood -- no concern about our safety. Although we didn't actually stay in the castle portion, our place was better than I had hoped! It was under the driveway/patio & very quiet; in fact, the desk warned us about 2 nights of parties (wedding & prom) & suggested our room. This room looked out onto a lush lawn & gardens. Ed took pictures and, as a plumbing salesman, was quite impressed with the bathroom -- top notch. The stay also included a hot breakfast to order every morning; Ed loved the eggs benedict. Their dinners were also lovely -- peaceful & delicious. The staff very friendly. Our room was a bit stuffy (no a/c & windows sealed) so we asked for a fan -- they provided one within a few minutes. It was the perfect place to stay -- tours/people/noise all day, quiet rest for the night & ready to go the next morning.
Also, many people said we wouldn't like Glasgow -- that Edinburgh is much better. To be honest, I liked Glasgow better -- Edinburgh seemed a bit too "Williamsburg" to me (set-up city), not real, & tourists everywhere. Glasgow people were wonderful, patient & helpful. The train station reminded me of Grand Central.
The Music tour in Glasgow was fun. We didn't know what to expect -- esp meeting at the Royal Hall. But the tour guide (pro musician & tattoos) was phenomenal. He knew his music history. Also, it was cute to see this "head-banger" musician getting hugs from people we encountered; it felt like he was showing us his neighborhood. Most people probably wouldn't like the music tour unless they are into rock. There was an attorney who worked a few blocks away from tour who was with his wife, celebrating 60th b-day; it was fun watching him re-live his younger years as we toured the different venues/bars where bands had played. So I would only recommend this Music tour for those who are avid fans of the alt rock movement (like Oasis, Coldplay, Echo & the Bunnymen, etc). We had a blast even in the pouring rain.
Hope this helps you in planning trips for others. Thank you for the packing cubes -- good idea. btw, daughter Sarah is transferring her sophomore year into Chapman-Dodge College this fall (Orange, CA) so we may need ideas for future visits there.

We got home yesterday after three weeks vacation. The cruise was totally awesome. We had some rough seas between the Azores and Bruges. There were a lot of people struggling with the roughness on Monday 4/22, but we were fine. Good food and good wine. We participated in “the battle of the sexes” all cruise long on each sea day. It was really fun and in the end (last day), the men won. Each team received extra points for participating in the theme for the day. Ie: I was George Clooney one day, opposite sex another day, and storage things from the Garden of Eden on the last day (low hanging fruit). Thought you could use a laugh - the ship did.

We head to the Miami airport this morning in a couple of hours. It's been a great trip, and we really enjoyed the accommodations, the food and drinks.
We did shore excursions in Puerto Rico (a rum, cocktails, and salsa dance tour - really fun!); in St. Thomas (a Sapphire Beach and snorkeling trip); and St. Maarten (a great bus, shopping, and boat tour). We leaned a little bit about each place, and Dale fell in love with St. Maarten.
We met lots of really nice people on the ship, made some new friends, and had fun with the Trivia Events.
Not really looking forward to going home, but are definitely looking forward to planning another cruise with you.

It was a beautiful day, but windy. We got in our dry suits and headed out. It was a wild ride. We bounced and had salt water spray us. I could feel the water seep down my clothes. After about 20 minutes, we found smooth water. It was a pleasant ride to find the Orcas. We found several Orcas and observed them. Our guide was very informative and a skilled driver. On our way back to shore, our driver was able to follow a boat in, thus giving us a smoother ride. We got back safely and thrilled with our wet and wild adventure. Delicious hot chocolate was waiting for us. Bring a change of clothes. We were very wet.

Somehow we got chosen as one of the four couples at the Captains table on Thurs...he also personally gave the same group a personal tour of the bridge on Saturday. Captain Tore Grimstad couldn't have been more gracious, he seems very well liked by everyone we talked too and the crew loves him. We also did a galley tour which was very impressive.
Joy was very apprehensive about being on a ship and out of sight of land. Not any more. lol

We enjoyed our cruise. Rich and I found it relaxing and we got lots of reading done. I think the kids enjoyed it the most, they would disappear for hours exploring the ship. We did excursions at each stop. The kids did zip-lining in Honduras, and as a family we took an ATV tour; in Belize we hiked and tubed the caves, and I overcame my fear of snorkeling in Cozumel. It was fabulous.
Remember my concern about being on Level 2? Well I must say it was the perfect location and I will request it next time. It was a great location for excursions because we could just walk down a couple flight of stairs and we were at the departure area, then returning we could walk right up to our room, no waiting in lines for the elevator, it was great. Also for departure our floor was the first group to leave for self-service. From the time we left our room we were in our car in less than an hour. We had to be back for a meeting Sunday afternoon and it worked out perfectly!!
I also want to thank you for the suggestion of getting the girls their own room. It was definitely the way to go. It worked out perfectly. Maybe next trip I will let them have a balcony room next door to us. I am no longer so concerned about them sitting on the railing and falling overboard. They are good girls. Kristen is going to be 18 in September, Danah will be 16 in April, though they will always be my little girls.
We will definitely cruise again and will contact you when we are ready. If you are ever in the area we would love to see you.

We had a fantastic time! The history was amazing and we saw many incredible things. Post-cruise we spent a couple of days in Rome in a two bedroom apartment just a couple of blocks from the Coliseum. We got gelato, bakery items and there were restaurants all around us. We got a taste of how Italians live! Definitely a trip that my family will never forget!

A belated “Thank you†for the package that greeted me on the day I returned home from the NCL Interisland Cruise. My siblings felt NCL was a mediocre cruise line, but since this was my 1st cruise, I had a great time. I would recommend this to friends if all wanted to R&R and just enjoy the many activities (and food choices) on board. Since I live in Hawaii, the outer island tours were ok.

I've been meaning to thank you for all you did to get Candace and me on that Baltic cruise at the last minute. We had such a wonderful time. Enjoyed Cunard and the special treats and bubbly you sent us the first night.
We arrived in London with less than 2 hours before departure. Although the Cunard host was not very helpful in getting us get to the ship, the Celebrity host was able to get us to the port and even called Cunard to let them know that we were coming. Also charged us half the price for the private van. (We joined a couple who were also on our flight but going on Celebrity). Lucky for us the Celebrity ship was right in front of ours. Whew. It was so close - we were the last ones on board. Pulled the ramps away as soon as we got on. Remind me to always go a day ahead.
As soon as the funds get replenished, we plan to cruise again. Thanks again!

We're back, fully rested & happy!!!! Thank you for the excellent location on the ship --- but even more so our expectation of the room was not even close! It was perfect and wonderful! Whatever size room this was -- please note for our next cruise (probably not 2014... but then again... never say never). And we definitely need 9 nights or more.... if only seven, I would not be totally relaxed as it took me a few days to unwind (it's been a difficult 6-months betw Storm Sandy & a sudden death in congregation). I also took advantage of the spa due to insistence by hubby. Also, we met wonderful couple who were our nightly dinner companions. YEAH!!! See how happy you made me?! THANK YOU!!!!

We had a great time on the cruise. Bree and Bradley were out until 1 am every night with the other teens. Brett and Hayden got to gamble a little for the first time since the age is only 18 on the ship. We did a lot of excursions and we actually wore the big boys out at the end. They loved the Flow rider and the ice skating too. Great trip but I am glad to be home. Now on to the next adventure!

We had a great time on the Alaska cruise. It was just the right mix of enough sightseeing, relaxation, and good food and good company. We met up with Gina, Laszlo and little Emma several times a day during the trip and we had a great time hanging out with them. This was the first real cruise for Vishnu and me and we liked it, so we will definitely want to go on other cruises in the future, maybe with our kids too when they are a bit older.

Al and I returned late last night from our FABULOUS cruise, many thanks to you. We enjoyed the wine you had delivered to our stateroom and want to thank you for your thoughtfulness in sending that very attractive photo album, it was at our front door step when we returned.
The ship was lovely, the land tours fabulous and tour guides top notch! We met some New Zealander couples on the ship and had dinner with them each night, very enjoyable.
Now to get back to “normal†and go through our 1000’s of photos! As you can imagine, our heads are swimming with good memories, wanting to share them soon with our friends and family.

Just a quick email to tell you that Randy and I had a wonderful trip on the Inspiration. We couldn't have asked for better service, food, care or company. We were seated with a lovely Mexican family with a daughter in Rancho Bernardo, so we are planning to see them again. We are sold on cruising as the best way to 'get away from it all' for a vacation. I am practicing my towel animals so I don't become to nostalgic for the experience before we can afford to go again.

Thanks for another great cruise experience. We didn't have much time on Bermuda because of the weather, but overall, it was a great trip, followed by a wonderful family reunion. Bermuda is beautiful - will try to fly back sometime and spend more time there. And, Baltimore's cruise terminal was very impressive!! They moved us through our embarkment and disembarkment very quickly! :) I was surprised!!

I wanted you to know that all 18 of our party loved HA. I don't believe that there was any complaints during the 11 day cruise, in fact not even one minute of dissatisfaction. The pluses over Princess and RC were the food was better. Alternative dining worked out perfectly. We had a table of 8 and 10 abutting. The dining and room stewards were fantastic. If you have followed Cindie or Laurie on face book you will see hundreds of cruise pics.

Wow! Everyone who went on the cruise had a wonderful time! We had not expected the plethora of gifts that we would find in our cabins upon arrival, or shortly thereafter. I think every bottle of wine made its way to our dinner tables, and we shared freely with one another. Mom and I enjoyed the chocolate treats in our room over a couple of afternoons, and the sparkling cider on a couple of evenings.
I've been elected conference coordinator for our 2015 triennial conference, and we're already thinking we will probably - underscore probably - want to do another cruise. The feedback has just been amazing, ranging from the relatively low cost to the spiritual uplift to the refreshing, relaxing time on board and at ports of call.
I realize it's a little early to plan for 3 years from now, but would love any suggestions you have. The time of year seemed to work very well for clergy - it's after the busy Christmas season, and before Lent and Easter get going. Also, I think the length of the cruise was about right, with just enough time to get away and relax and enjoy the experience, but not so long that people felt they were really going to miss something important in their workplaces. My sense is that we'll have more people three years from now, especially since we've got that long to plan (and, for many, to save). Those of us who went are really talking it up on Facebook, which will also encourage others to catch the enthusiasm and want to go another time.
Also, Mom and I had such a good time, and are thinking it might be a good way to have a family reunion, also perhaps in 2015. We normally have one every other year, and the next one is already scheduled for 2013 in Asheville, NC, where a brother lives. We probably won't do much planning until after 2013, but if you've got information to share with my family when we gather in Asheville, that would also help. There are: Mom, 7 living siblings, 7 spouses of siblings, 1 surviving spouse, plus a total of 20 grandchildren & their spouses, and a couple more great-grandchildren. Oh, and a couple of step-grands in there, as well.That would probably be about 15 or 16 rooms altogether, if we all go.(And for a cruise, I would bet every single one will be there!) Our reunions are usually the week after the 4th of July, so I'm not sure how weather issues might affect cruise dates. One brother and his wife have mobility issues, and use wheelchairs. They'll need a fully accessible room. Oh, and the brother in Asheville is career Air Force, retired, so I'm sure he'll want a military discount. He and his wife and kids have gone on several cruises, mostly with Disney (hush; slap my mouth!), but they're open to anything that will be fun, and accessible in the ways we need.
