NCL Epic is a large ship, only forward and aft elevators so be prepared to walk to an elevator. Crazy room arrangement. Crowded for being a large ship, you have to search for less crowded space but they are there. Food was very good, service was very good. The Epic is a ship you love to hate but it has so many good things you end up thinking maybe it wasn’t so bad- Kenneth S.

Hi Dianna. Just wanted to give you some feedback on the carnival celebration. Departure Sunday, December 10, 2023. The boat is fresh and relatively new so that was very nice. Lots of public places to hang out. The main dining rooms gave very slow service for our large group. Though both times they introduced three people as being the people taking care of us, it was primarily one server. In addition, I would highly recommend the festivale dining room Over the carnivale dining room. The carnivale dining room was very plain and just a big open room primarily. The festivale definitely had more elegant decor. The food was hit or miss in both dining rooms. Some of the food was delicious and some of it was ordinary to poor. The specialty food places though we’re good. We especially liked the bonsai sushi. They have a variety of Japanese dishes, some sushi, tempura, bowls, etc. In general people really liked Guy Fieri’s hamburger place. Les and I did not try pig and anchor but the rest of the family did and liked it a lot. We really liked blue iguana, which serve made to order burritos, burrito, bowls, and tacos. I think the big hit for the ship was big chicken. And I liked that too. Mainly chicken tenders and fried chicken sandwiches but very fresh. We went twice to the Italian restaurant and that was yummy. Chibang was also a winner. The Lido marketplace was surprising,. We went there almost every breakfast, and every single breakfast was exactly the same. Even with the made to order omelettes, you only had three choices. So this was a great disappointment. As some of our party were breakfast people.
The ports were the ports. There was a really good band in pig and anchor during the cruise. We saw them multiple times. Didn’t really go to the other shows but those that did say they were decent. The crew did a great job of keeping things cleaned up other than the occasional overused public bathroom.
The walking area on deck 18, I believe they called the jogging track, was useless. It was very narrow, and there were always people walking the wrong way on it, and not even realizing that it was an area to walk or run on. And then moving to the fitness center was bad because it was barely air-conditioned and when I say that -we were sweating within five minutes of being in the fitness center. The staff just told us to go to guest services and complain because they had already complained and nothing was being done
Our return to Port day was a mess. Weather was blamed. And there certainly was some weather in Miami. They announced on Saturday evening that we would be delayed getting into Port but had no further information. They said they would be updating us during the night. I was up around 2 AM and looked out and found there was a sheet that basically said we don’t know anything. Then again at 7 AM in the morning they announced that they didn’t have any updates. Now mind you we should’ve been in port at 6 AM. I believe we ended up, leaving the ship starting at about 230 after getting into around 130. I think we were the last ship into port. The updates during the morning were bizarre. At one point they had times for us, which were not actually met. Then after that, they said they didn’t have any information. While the cruise Director, of course, kept his upbeat attitude, there seem to be absolutely no recognition of people having to figure out what to do with flights. This was never mentioned in any of the announcements. It was almost as if they were unaware that people had to do something with flights. And I’m not tagging them for saying they didn’t know. It just was strangely absent in the up beat announcements,. Debarkation was a mess. as you would expect, they asked for our patience as they exited 6000 people out of two doors. Definitely put a bad flavor on the end of the cruise. And once in the cruise port, transportation was difficult and no organization out there either. Can’t blame carnival for that but it is a concern. I know they were all overwhelmed, and it showed.
I must tell you we are grateful for you to put this together for us. The main thing was having all of this family time together and that was very precious. And I think for the price point this was a great choice for us. We are grateful to you, Dianna! You’re the best!!!!

We choose to do something special to celebrate what our daughter had accomplished by graduating with Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts at the age of 20 years old. Planned a First time ski trip to Colorado with Dianna, everything was exactly as she said.
