Hotel Storm in Reykjavik was just okay. Breakfast was wonderful. Location less than desirable, had to walk a lot, not always a taxi around, no restaurants close. Attendants at the desk were very accommodating and knowledgeable.

It was a great trip overall. We have always enjoyed Celebrity cruises- good staff, nice ships, good food. We loved being with a large group of bridge players. Additional hotel, tour and flights worked well. the only glitch ( and Kara knows this, i’m sure) was the delay with transfer from ship to tour busses; a long delay ( better part of an hour) requiring that we all stand until the busses arrived. There must be a better way, perhaps staying on board until it is certain the busses are in place.

This review is worth the time to read. My wife and I booked trips in the past through a travel agent, but this time we were going to Ireland for 3+ weeks and knew we needed a planning expert. Kara played an active role immediately, by giving us 8+ travel companies to view to get an idea of possible itineraries. With her feedback, we chose our places to stay and she recommended sites and attractions that were “off the the beaten path”. At this point she was an immense help and we felt very fortunate to be working with her. She holds herself to a high professional standard and her response times are amazing!
The price quote for our trip insurance was high and we wanted to have a conversation with her to understand why the large amount. Here’s where her experience was invaluable. She confidently cited several cases and after 20 minutes we were sold on the amount.
Two weeks into our trip I had to go to an Ireland hospital for one week. I knew we had trip insurance but knew nothing about the process to follow and what exactly would be covered. A regular travel agent would not get involved at this point, or to any significant degree. Kara was very familiar with the travel insurance company and its claims process. She confidently took charge, ensured we take the necessary steps to get “everything we had paid for”, and in the shortest path possible. She was there for my wife which was very comforting to know.
Being in an Irish hospital for an emergency visit was not fun but receiving $6,500 from the travel insurance company helped us to quickly forget about the incident. We did extend our trip and the Irish are wonderful … but not quite as great as Kara!
