January 29th Officially Recognized as Cruise Planners Day

The Broward County Commission officially proclaimed today, January 29th, “Cruise Planners Day.” Cruise Planners has been based in Coral Springs for 25 years and positively impacted the city and county from both a tourism and economic development aspect, employing more than 120 team members at its headquarters.

“Since I founded Cruise Planners 25 years ago, Broward County has always been our home, even as we continue to support franchisees nationwide,” said Michelle Fee, CEO and founder of Cruise Planners. “We are rooted and invested in Coral Springs and recently moved to a new, modern workspace we completely customized to fuel further collaboration and innovation amongst our Home Office Team.”

Cruise Planners’ community impact in Broward County continues far beyond just the location of its headquarters – consistently recognized as one of South Florida’s Top Workplaces by the South Florida Business Journal – including:

  • Economic Impact: Cruise Planners economic impact on Broward County includes ongoing travel advisor training sessions held solely at the Broward County Convention Center with more than 800 cruise and travel agents annually as well as additional specialty training events such as the company’s annual convention, being held again this year at the Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Fla.
  • Cruising Growth: Cruise Planners has positively contributed to Broward County and Greater Fort Lauderdale’s tourism engine helping bring in the more than four million cruisers sailing from Port Everglades each year.
  • Diversity Advocate: Cruise Planners is a member of the Greater Fort Lauderdale LGBT Chamber of Commerce, the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association and the company’s executives sit on many cruise line and travel advisory boards and are strong supporters of the Greater Ft. Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau’s initiatives.
  • Philanthropic Involvement: Through its CP Cares charitable giving program, Cruise Planners champions local causes including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Broward/Fort Lauderdale, raising more than $1.5 Million for the local community.

“South Florida is a travel mecca, especially when it comes to cruising and there’s no better place to officially celebrate Cruise Planners Day and spreading our signature Cruisitude, our positive state of mind and passion for all things travel,” Fee said.
