Cruise Planners Pushes AI further with Industry-first Cruise Confirmation Import integration

April 12, 2026 (Coral Springs, Fla.)— Cruise Planners, the nation’s largest home-based travel agency franchise network, has introduced an artificial intelligence–powered enhancement to its CP Maxx platform designed to eliminate manual data entry from the cruise booking process.

Travel advisors typically enter booking details manually from cruise confirmations into multiple systems, a process that can take several minutes per reservation and increases the risk of errors. Using AI and secure API integrations, the new Cruise Confirmation Import feature allows advisors to upload cruise confirmations directly into the system, where booking details are automatically extracted, validated and processed, streamlining workflows, reducing manual tasks and improving accuracy.

The feature builds on Cruise Planners’ broader investment in proprietary technology, including its CP Maxx and CPGenie platforms, which together serve as a centralized operating environment combining customer management tools, integrated data workflows and access to agency partners.

By leveraging AI-driven data extraction and system integration, the platform automates the ingestion and processing of cruise booking information, significantly reducing the need for manual entry. Cruise Planners advisor and technology advisory board member Cayce Callaway said the integration has improved her efficiency.

“Before this feature came along, I had to spend roughly 10-15 minutes inputting the data for each booking,” Callaway said. “While it may not seem of an abundance of time, it adds up over the course of our busy days. These are mostly for luxury cruises, which have multiple promos and amenities. To just upload it and check that everything was correct makes a big-time saver.”

The enhancement also enables the automatic creation of new client profiles within CP Maxx, minimizing duplicate records while further simplifying booking workflows. Maxx Intelligence and Cruise Confirmation Import use AI to read cruise confirmation documents and map the information into the appropriate fields within the platform, creating built-in guardrails that help reduce common errors and maintain booking accuracy.

“What stands out is the incredible ability for the system to comprehend the task at hand at a high level of accuracy,” said Cruise Planners advisor and technology advisory board member Jay Paul.

The feature is currently available for five cruise lines — AmaWaterways, Avalon Waterways, Uniworld, Silversea and Windstar — as part of an initial rollout, with plans for broader expansion. Cruise Planners said the automation is intended to reduce operational friction and allow advisors to focus on client service and revenue-generating activities.

The feature was developed by Cruise Planners’ in-house technology team, including AI specialists focused on the company’s proprietary systems. The effort was led by Chief Technology Officer Brian Shultz and Director of Operations Diana Riel, who have helped shape Maxx Intelligence and CP Maxx since their early development. The project took six months to complete and was tested with input from the company’s technology advisory board, a group of advisors who provided feedback throughout development.

“Consumers are already using AI to plan their trips, but that doesn’t translate into how travel actually gets booked,” said Shultz. “We asked a simple question: how do you take generative AI beyond imagined itineraries and make it useful inside the booking process? That’s what this is — turning AI into something that solves real operational problems for advisors and connects planning to execution.”

Cruise Import Confirmation builds on Cruise Planners’ broader use of artificial intelligence across its platform. The company integrated generative AI into CP Maxx with the launch of Maxx Intelligence, which has since evolved into “Ask Max,” an AI assistant that allows advisors to query the system using natural language to access information on cruise lines, itineraries and internal tools, as well as support the creation of marketing materials. “Planning a trip is easy; executing it is where things break down,” said Riel. “Once AI moves beyond generating ideas and starts operating inside the booking process, it changes how the business runs and what advisors can do at scale.”

Cruise Import Confirmation was rolled out in late March to Cruise Planners’ more than 3,500 advisors. For more information, visit www.cruiseplanners.com or www.cruiseplannersfranchise.com.
