Here is Part 2 of Cruise Planners VP of Sales and Marketing Theresa Scalzitti’s recap of her trip on the MSC Merviglia’s inaugural sailing. For Part 1, of U by Uniworld.
The MSC Yacht Club offers cruisers an elite experience with incredible amenities and access to exclusive venues. Each MSC Yacht Club guests is treated to butler service, priority check-in and checkout, unlimited drinks – even from the mini bar in your room – and access to exclusive areas such as The One Sun Deck and Top Sail Lounge. Staying in one of the MSC Yacht Club staterooms is definitely a way to enhance your trip.
The activities on board for families and kids really make the MSC Meraviglia a ship for everyone. The Sportsplex has tons of entertainment options including a bowling alley and a full-size basketball court. There are indoor simulation rides that make you feel as if you’re on a roller coaster or in the middle of a zombie attack where you’re competing against others to kill the most zombies and get the highest score. Adults and kids alike can feel like they are flying down a race track with the Formula 1 Simulators.
The Polar Aquapark is by far one of the most exciting water parks at sea. There were three water slides, a Himalayan Bridge ropes course almost 200 feet above the ocean and a splash zone for smaller children.
MSC’s kids programming features five distinct age groups and MSC’s unique partnership with LEGO flows through all of the rooms. Kids can even design their own toy and there is a 3D printer that will create it for them.
One of my favorite aspects of the MSC Meraviglia is Cirque du Soleil at Sea. There are two shows performed in the custom-designed Carousel Lounge and you can even enjoy a dinner-and-a-show experience. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the costume designing for MSC’s two exclusive Cirque du Soleil at Sea shows.
