Cruise Planners executives joined Oprah Winfrey for her “Girlfriends Getaway” cruise on Holland America Line’s Nieuw Statendam.
There’s nothing better than a Girlfriends Getaway, especially when your girl gang includes Oprah. Cruise Planners executives Michelle Fee, Vicky Garcia and Theresa Scalzitti joined partners from Holland America Line as they sailed on Nieuw Statendam with the ships’ godmother herself, Oprah Winfrey.

When asked about her experience, CEO Michelle Fee raved about every minute and admits she herself was a bit starstruck.
“It was such an empowering and positive moment to be part of the Girlfriends Getaway cruise weekend. Holland America Line made a smart choice honoring her as godmother. She is such a strong and powerful woman so to be in her presence was an honor – I mean, it’s Oprah!”

Holland America Line and O, The Oprah Magazine, have been partners since 2017 when the line launched sailings and programming inspired by the magazine’s soul-expanding content. The Girlfriends Getaway was Oprah’s second cruise with Holland America Line as she previously sailed with Holland America Line to Alaska – a dream trip for her.
While onboard, Oprah was named the ship’s godmother by ship Capt. Sybe de Boer and Holland America Line president, Orlando Ashford.
Holland America Line’s Music Walk venues and Food and Wine excursions are just two of the aspects that make these ships perfect for a girlfriends’ getaway. Contact our local travel agents and get inspired for your next vacation with your girl gang, or locate a travel advisor near you.
