On Board the World’s Most Luxurious Ship

Theresa Scalzitti, Cruise Planners’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing, joined Regent Seven Seas Cruises for a two-night cruise on board the new Seven Seas Explorer. Read below for Theresa’s scoop on just how incredible Regent’s new Seven Seas Explorer is

Regent Revamped

As the ultra luxury cruise line’s first new ship in 13 years, Regent made it clear this ship was worth the wait. The Regent Seven Seas Explorer is touted as the “Most Luxurious Ship Ever Built” as with its very relaxed elegance; it’s luxury without the stuffiness. The ship is spaciously intimate, breathlessly elegant and perfected staffed with a low guest to crew ratio.

Cheers to Intimacy

As soon as we walked on board, a bellmen graciously assisted us with our carry-on luggage while another white-gloved crew member greeted us with a flute of champagne. Immediately, you can feel the intimacy and elegance of the ship. Even being a small ship sailing at capacity, we were never crowded and there were plenty of spaces to explore.

Relaxation All Around

My husband and I loved relaxing at the Observation Lounge on Deck 11. With wrapping windows overlooking the ocean, it’s a great place to have a glass of wine, listen to a pianist and chat with fellow guests. We also really enjoyed the afternoon tea service and chocolates, it was the perfect way to unwind in the afternoon.

International Delicacies

Chartreuse, Regent’s French restaurant, offered a modern-French cuisine that was simply delicious. Pacific Rim, their Pan-Asian restaurant, offered everything from dim sum to sushi, and even short ribs. The food was incredible and added to the whole experience.

Living Large

We were lucky enough to stay in the Penthouse Suite and with a living area, small kitchen and bar and a big balcony, it was practically an apartment at sea. Some of our favorite luxuries were the butler service with nightly canapés, which can be custom ordered from a canapé menu, the pillow menu and the illy espresso and coffee maker in the suite. The bathroom had everything–double sinks, plenty of drawer and cabinet space, a huge shower with six-wall jets and even a rain shower. We were spoiled!

I really loved every minute of being on board the Regent Seven Seas Explorer. The ship was the perfect blend of intimacy, elegance and relaxation. The crewmembers on board were extremely friendly and ready to anticipate your every need. Shore excursions, drinks, specialty restaurants and gratuities are all included, making the experience even more relaxed as you don’t have to worry about that bill at the end of your vacation. I would love to sail for longer than two nights on this ship as it really feels like a perfect fit.
