Get “Red-dy” for a Sneak Peek of Virgin Voyages’ Suite Life on the Scarlet Lady

The Virgin brand is new to cruising and reveals cabin designs on Scarlet Lady setting sail in 2020

Cruise Planners Home Office Team and local travel advisors received a sneak peek of two cabin types on Virgin Voyages’ highly anticipated first ship, Scarlet Lady, set to debut in 2020.

The Scarlet Lady is adult by design for travelers who are 18+ and will mimic a sleek, modern super yacht. There are 1,330 cabins with several categories and 78 RockStar Suites aboard the Scarlet Lady with 93% of cabins offering an ocean view and 86% featuring a Sea Terrace. Each cabin will optimize space and views of the ocean.

The Sea Terrace cabin has a patented bed called a “Seabed” that can be reconfigured from a sofa during the day to a standard bed at night.

The concept of this first-ever transformational bed gives passengers, aptly named “Virgin Voyages Sailors,” more space to invite friends over for social gatherings.

Most standard cabins will have 43” flat-screen HDTVs, mini bars and a glam area.

All terraces feature a sustainably sourced hammock that are handwoven by Yellow Leaf artisans from rural Thailand.

For the ultimate VIP experience, Virgin Voyages offers “RockStar Suites” designed with rock-and-roll glamour, brass and leather finishes, and marble bathrooms with rain shower heads featuring a peek-a-boo shower with a dichroic glass window looking out the bedroom to the ocean.

Hang out in the living area and rock out to your favorite songs played on the vinyl turntable, while you party the night away with Champagne or mixing drinks from a full size, fully stocked bar complete with mixology equipment.

All the cabins are equipped with clever mood lighting that will automatically adjust depending on the time of the day to reflect the everchanging colors of the ocean and sunsets, and guests can control all in-room tech like dimming the lights and playing music via a tablet. In addition, there are sensors that detects when the cabin is empty, and it’ll automatically go into energy saver mode – blinds will close, and the air conditioner will turn to an eco-saver temperature – all part of Virgin Voyages commitment to operate one of the cleanest fleets at sea.

The Scarlet Lady’s inaugural sailing will include a mix of four- to seven-night Caribbean voyages out of Miami; sailings to Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico; Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; a sunset departure from Key West, Florida and a midnight departure from Bimini where Sailors can experience Virgin Voyages’ exclusive private beach club.

At the helm is Captain Wendy Williams, the first Canadian woman in history to captain a ship for a major cruise brand.
