CP Cares Lights the Night

CP Cares® Lights the Night with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Cruise Planners®, through our philanthropic leg, CP Cares®, is an avid supporter of LLS and officially reached an impressive milestone in 2016: more than $1 million donated to LLS through a variety of efforts including Light the Night walks and Man and Woman of the Year campaigns.

LLS’ mission is to find a cure for blood cancer, making someday – the day when cancer is no longer a threat – today. Money raised by LLS through donations and events such as Light the Night support cancer research and treatments for cancer patients.

Every year Cruise Planners has a team of supporters that show up and show out for the Light the Night event. People come together to walk in an effort to show solidarity with people affected by blood cancers, as well as remembering survivors and loved ones who have lost family members or friends to the disease.

This year, Cruise Planners participated in the held in south Florida. The night of the event as the sun began to set, the thousands of participants lit the night with a 1-mile walk with glowing lanterns. Each lantern holds a special meaning: red for supporters, yellow for people who have lost loved ones, and white for survivors. Also during the walk, a band played music with the crowd adoring the finale fireworks.
