Cruise Planners Attends Norwegian Cruise Line Announcement of Elvis Duran as Godfather of new ship

Celebrated Nationally-Syndicated Radio Host of "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show" to Christen Norwegian’s Newest Ship in May 2018 and Cruise Planners was there for the reveal

Norwegian Cruise Line named radio personality, Elvis Duran, godfather of the new Norwegian Bliss. Cruise Planners own COO, Vicky Garcia, was invited to this small industry announcement alongside Norwegian Cruise Line’s CEO and president, Andy Stuart at the PHD Rooftop Lounge at Dream Downtown in New York, NY. 

“Since Cruise Planners have travel agents in all 50 states, we are glad Norwegian Cruise Line picked a nationally syndicated talk show host such as Elvis Duran,” Vicky said. 

The award-winning “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” on WHTZ, New York’s Z100, is syndicated nationally by Premiere Networks on nearly 80 radio stations across the country and available digitally on iHeartRadio, reaching more than ten million monthly listeners.

“The Elvis Duran Morning Show broadcasts from New York City and sometimes South Florida where Cruise Planners is headquartered and cruising is popular,” Vicky said. “Norwegian made a great choice with this partnership.” 

As Godfather, Elvis will have an honorary role in the official ship christening ceremony on May 30, 2018 at Pier 66 in Seattle. According to a press release, the Norwegian Bliss was custom built for the ultimate cruising experience, and boasts an array of exhilarating activities, delectable dining options and show stopping performances. The line’s sixteenth ship will sail weekly seven-day Alaska cruises during her inaugural summer season and, beginning in November 2018, Norwegian Bliss will trade in Alaska’s breathtaking scenery for stunning Caribbean sunsets as she sails seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruises each Saturday from Port Miami.

Cruise Planners CEO, Michelle Fee was godmother of the AmaWaterways and COO, Vicky Garcia was godmother of a Viking Cruises ship and it is quite an honor given only to individuals who officially christen a new ship, with the tradition of breaking a bottle of champagne against the ship’s hull.
