Hello Fellow Travelers ~
This is a wonderful time to be cruising ! We just returned from latest cruise, on Holland America on Nieuw Statendam, sailing from Amsterdam to Norway. Initially,visiting Keukenhof Tulip Gardens in Amsterdam was our focus.( Named Top 5 most beautiful gardens in the world ) ... And yes, it truly was ! But why travel so far without adding a cruise?
Within the past 7 months, we have sailed on the new NCL Bliss / Celebrity Edge / HAL Nieuw Statendam. Each shipped has their own 5 Star ,
and we like variety. There were also things we thought could be improved,
but most absolutely, we enjoyed each ship.
Without a doubt, HAL excels in their MUSIC ! Great variety to entertain everyone / professional talented musicians.
We think this ship was a perfect match for sailing out of Amsterdam -
" Dutch Café " serving Dutch treats, atmosphere is traditional- modern. Our room stewards ( 2) took excellent care of us and honored all our request.
Dive In Burgers were truly gourmet!/ as were the pizzas. Breakfast in Lido buffet was very good - freshly made to order crepes/ waffles / wide variety of pastries / smoked salmon daily/ of course omelets. Fresh fruit is offered thr uout the day - ice cream is always a favorite for the guest. Salmon offerings were always prepared moist and tender - lobster nite was fantastic ! Eat as many as you want in dining room OR buffet ! Never seen that before in our 16 cruises ! VERY well prepared / fresh- no butter needed. These were Maine lobsters.
I will say that overall, we rate Celebrity Edge ( our other new ship ) with the best food ,but you wont go hunger on HAL - and we cannot eat 3 big meals a day.
Captain handled ship with great expertise -Norway is a trip to see beauty and relax. Oslo city had flowers everywhere and some good high quality shopping .
Will wait another day to review Celebrity Edge / NCL Bliss.
Just Know that Gene and Karen give the most personalized service you will ever experience! Thru the yrs., we've needed to change reservations , make reservations "asap" - many different scenarios. They always got the job done. Yes, we consider them our good friends, but they are professionals that we depend on .

Enjoyed traveling with you. I mentioned the possibility of an American River cruise, State of Washington, April, 2020, American Song, 7-8 days., Group deal.
Gene and Karen booked our Disney trip thru a United package for the 1st week in Dec. All went very smoothly! Mears bus service to and from the airport was very efficient. We much enjoyed our stay at the Dolphin Hotel. If you have AAA, meals are 20 % discounted. Exceptional breakfast buffet and enjoyed a seafood dinner buffet at sister hotel the Swan. Cafeteria ( Picau ? ) always provided a good meal at a fair price. Buses will take you to all parks, including Disney Springs.
It is very easy access boat ride to Epcot - little / no wait , then a 5+ min. ride, even when stopping at the Boardwalk / Beach Club . Boat also goes to Hollywood, but we did not go there. Nice to walk to the Boardwalk - truly feels like you are at a seaside resort .
Christmas evening fireworks were spectacular - as was the evening show in Animal Kingdom. Avitar/ Pandora area is more beautiful during the day - surprised it was not lit better at night.
Ate at Biergarten buffet in Germany - very pleased. This was part of our Candlelight Processional meal to guarantee a seat. You will be fine if you don't do this tho', because you can easily see if you stand and the music can be heard from afar.
In general, meals are limited to sandwiches / BQ / French fries in all parks. Do treat yourself to a nice buffet / meal to balance this out. Pastries in Epcot are outstanding.
Mickey's very Merry Christmas was entertaining - expect a crowd when leaving. We paid $100. pp to enter at 4 pm.
We took a 11 day cruise to the Baltic Sea and had a great time. Thank you Cruise Planners for arranging all the details so we can enjoy our family vacation stress free:).

having Gene & Karen as our Travel Agents, is so wonderful!
Including the 2 cruises we have planned for 2017, we will have taken 13 cruises in the past 14 yrs. Little did we know when we took our 1st cruise, cruising would become such a meaningful part of our lives. Planning and the anticipation is half the fun...and once on the ship, you are so care free!! : )
Nothing compares to the " Complete Rest with "No Responsibilities" vacation
that we experience on a ship! Who knew that as an adult...you get to be a kid again!
In the beginning, we used AAA and a Cruise Planners agent in Florida. While
they "got the job done" , something was missing. That something, was the
"Personal Care" and " Detailed Professional Service" that Gene & Karen provide.
They are both gracious, and want to be sure you have THE cruise that you are
HAPPY with.
Gene has graciously (and without hesitation) canceled & rebooked a cruise
for us, and when we had a loss in my family the wk. before our Mediterranean
cruise, Gene worked hard to insure all of our funds were returned in a timely manner.
It is our blessing to have Gene & Karen as our Travel Agents.... what more
could you ask for? ... Integrity, Excellent Customer Service, and a Good Friends!
