Alaska Cruise - Holland America Volendam My wife and I went on an Alaskan cruise for our 50th birthday / 5th wedding anniversary. I had never been on a cruise before (my wife had many years ago) so I honestly did not know where to start. My wife found Sandy Weitz's information on the internet and contacted her for some help in planning this trip. Sandy was outstanding! She held my hand through the entire process as I was just not sure how everything worked. She was extremely responsive and always had great advice and 100% steered us in the right direction at each turn. I don't know if we would have gone through with the trip were it not for her assistance - it was very overwhelming to try to do on our own. She helped with ship selection, excursions, cabin selection, even the restaurants on the ship. As for the trip, it was a trip of a lifetime! I highly recommend the Volendam ship on Holland as it is 1400 passengers so it is big enough that there is enough bars/restaurants to keep it from being stale but we never once felt crowded. I also highly recommend upgrading to the Neptune suite level as it is not much more than the Veranda level and the perks are WELL worth the extra couple dollars. The service on Holland America was incredible - I have never been treated with so much respect and genuine politeness while still having fun with the staff. They all knew our name by the 2nd day! Can't say enough about the experience and more importantly, how much Sandy Weitz helped us get the absolute maximum enjoyment out of the trip as we could have possibly asked for.
