Cruise Planners is Going Even More GREEN

At Cruise Planners, we love green!  It’s our signature color we call “CP Green.” Now, more than ever, we’re committed to continuing our green initiatives and social responsibility through our #CPGreenChallenge.

Cruise Planners is Going Even More GREEN

Continuing our commitment to going green, nearly 100 Cruise Planners Home Office Team members, their family and local Cruise Planners franchisees teamed up with VolunteerCleanup.org to clean up Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park in Dania Beach, FL. After the 2-hour cleanup, we collected 150 pounds of trash consisting of Styrofoam, rubber pieces and non-biodegradable materials, such as cigarette butts, fishing lines, plastic bottles, caps, bags, cups and so much more. VolunteerCleanUp.org provided an educational marine debris discussion with potential solutions and key takeaways.

To take it further, Cruise Planners is rallying our partners, nation-wide franchisees, clients, friends and family to take on the #CPGreenChallenge. You don’t have to do a beach cleanup like we did. Let’s stop littering and pick up trash wherever you see it – at home or on vacation. Show us how you’re an active participant and making a difference in your neighborhood, parks, beaches and more, by tagging your friends and family and challenge them to go GREEN with the #CPGreenChallenge!

We were honored to be joined by Cruise Planners Travel Advisor Beverly Mizell-Missoudan and her daughter Maya at our beach cleanup since their family is part of the park’s history. The Mizell-Johnson State Park was named after late civil rights activists Dr. Von D. Mizell and Eula Johnson who helped desegregate South Florida beaches.

State parks do not have proactive cleaning measures in place. A lot that ends up on shore is detrimental to animals – plastic, cigarette butts and other litter – so there is a need for more volunteers to remove trash by hand.

Trash or litter – much of it plastic – end up in waterways and make their way downstream into our oceans from land, streams and rivers. Fish, birds, marine mammals and sea turtles mistake these small fragments for food and the plastic does not breakdown in their stomachs, which is destroying the native population.

This is one of the reasons why Cruise Planners is committed to be part of the solution, not part of the pollution.

To raise awareness of improving the quality of life where we live, work and play, Cruise Planners is giving the recovered plastics a higher purpose. Stay tuned to find out!

Last year, Cruise Planners moved into a new office and implemented new practices to ensure our Home Office Team and guests reduce their day-to-day impact on the environment. Our team members were issued reusable CP water bottles, coffee mugs and silverware, while guests receive water in aluminum bottles instead of plastic. Our office and meeting rooms have energy-efficient and motion-sensor lights and refillable-water stations.
