Only 39 miles long and 2.5 miles wide, it lies 50 miles southwest of Houston. Long known for its miles of sandy beaches and Gulf seafood, today Galveston is also recognized for its treasure trove of Victorian architecture and one of the most vigorous historic preservation programs in the country. Galveston Attractions Probably the most charming way to discover this historic city is by carriage. Take a carriage ride through the Victorian-era streets and let your driver take you back through history. Galveston Activities Spend a lazy day relaxing on the beach or fishing off the coast. Discover the famed historic Strand District and have fun shopping in the city's more than 100 curio shops, outlets, antique stores, art galleries, and numerous museums and gardens. Explore some of the most historic buildings in Texas - Victorian homes and businesses that have withstood hurricanes, fire and modern development. Stop by the Grand Opera House, ranked as one of the nation's finest historic theaters. If you enjoy sunbathing and great swimming, try popular Doctors Cave Beach; or Cornwall Beach, an underwater marine park, offers you an exciting treat. Or sample the rum at a distillery along the Governors Coach Tour, a 40-mile railroad trip. For something really different, try rafting down the Martha Brae on a bamboo raft. Montego Bay Attractions Jamaica has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. And Rose Hall Beach Club is a perfect example. White sand and crystal-clear water make this secluded private beach well worth its $8 admission fee. You'll find beach bars and restaurants, an open-air dance area, showers, restrooms, volleyball courts and a full watersports program. Montego Bay Activities Explore the island's beaches by swimming, sunning, snorkeling, diving, partying and horseback-riding, then relax with a local favorite, Red Stripe beer. Stroll down bustling Gloucester Avenue with great shopping and restaurants. Montego Bay 9:00am  6:00pm  5 Thursday, 5/1/14 About Grand Cayman Discovered by Columbus in 1503, these islands are a popular resort and British Crown Colony that still provides travelers with unspoiled beauty. As a destination known for its superb diving opportunites, the Caymans are home to unforgettable ship- wrecks, brilliantly colored fish and Caribbean-clear water. Grand Cayman Attractions Experience a once-in-a-lifetime adventure: snorkeling with stingrays at Stingray City Sandbar. These relatively tame creatures will swim right into your arms and eat from your hand. They have velvety soft skin and love to have their bellies rubbed. Despite their frightening name, they are very gentle and won't hurt you as long as you stay away from their tails. Grand Cayman Activities The Blow Holes are an amazing natural wonder. These geologic formations on Grand Cayman provide a wonderful photo opportunity. Waves crash on to rocks, forcing water into caverns and sending geysers shooting up through the ironshore. Visit Bodden Town, the Island's original south-shore capital. Here you'll find an old cemetery on the shore side of the road. Graves with A-frame structures are said to contain the remains of pirates. There are also the ruins of a fort and a wall erected by slaves in the 19th century. At the Cayman Island Turtle Farm you can see turtles in various stages of growth, and some can be picked up from the tanks -- a real treat for children and adults. The tiny village of Hell is little more than a patch of incredibly jagged rock formations called ironshore. The big attraction here are the small post office and a nearby gift shop, where you can get cards and letters postmarked from Hell. Formerly known as the West Bay Pink House, Old Homestead is probably the most photographed home in Grand Cayman. The pink-and-white Caymanian cottage was built in 1912 of wattle and daub around an ironwood frame. Built in 1780, Pedtro St. James Castle is Cayman's oldest stone structure and the only remaining late-18th-century residence on the island. The buildings are surrounded by 8 acres of natural parks and woodlands. You can stroll through landscaping of native Caymanian flora and experience one of the most spectacular views on the island from atop the dramatic Great Pedro Bluff. Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park is a 65-acre wilderness preserve that showcases a wide range of indigenous and nonindigenous tropical vegetation. Grand Cayman 7:00am  4:00pm  6 Friday, 5/2/14 About Cozumel The crystal clear water surrounding Cozumel makes it a favorite for divers and sun-seekers from around the world. Found on the Yucatan peninsula, it is the largest of Mexico's islands and steeped in history, tracing Mayan descendants from 300 A.D. In town, there is shopping for local crafts and dining in colorful restaurants. Cozumel Attractions Don't miss the opportunity to explore the ruins of the ancient Mayan city of Tulúm, majestically perched above the turquoise Caribbean. The site was occupied as far back as 600 A.D. However, it was most densely populated around 1200 A.D. You will be struck by the pyramid-shaped El Castillo, which dominates the city from atop a forty-foot cliff. The nearby Temple of the Descending God provides equally excellent insight into the architecture of the Mayan people, who gained considerable achievements in the arts and sciences, only to decline and vanish for no apparent reason. Cozumel Activities Explore the underwater world of Chankanaab on a deep-sea adventure aboard the Atlantis Submarine. Discover what makes a dolphin so magical as you play and interact with these amazing creatures in Chankanaab National Marine Park. Sit back, relax, and bury your toes in the white sand of Playa del Sol beach in Cozumel. This destination offers all the food, drinks and activities you can imagine, including relaxing massages on the beach.
